I dont think the odds offered at 40/1 for city to win the NPC are VFM. imo they should be somewhere around 70-80/1 at this point.

A bet now with odds of 6-8/1 for West ham or Brum (JUST A TAD TIGHT) to win it...is worth a 5 points stake on each. Either winning ( 8/1 ) would put 35 points in your pocket.

At this point in the season EWAY, 1-2-3 on your fancy would cover your win stake and make a profit.
    10pts eway Brum at 8/1
5 pts eway City at 50/1 ( £300 total) would be my bet...Brum FINISH TOP 3 CANT LOSE

    Morning Banksy.

    Of course 5x8 = 40.
But Jg2 is suggesting 2 bets (West Ham and Brum) at 5 x 8-1. Both can't win the league so you will lose 5 on whoever doesn't finish top.

So 5x8 = 40 less the 5 on the losing bet which equals 35.
    My brain hurts.

Thanks Banksy - I swore I'd never comment on one of Jg2's forecasts.

    Hello Redprintt.

Wouldn't you get the stake back on the winning bet to balance it out? so 10 staked at 8/1, only one pays at 8 x 5 =40 less 5 plus 5 back = 40.

    Now I'm doing it! ha.

I suppose its not a gain really but not a loss either.

Now look here banksy - I think you're being a bit thick (well, thicker than normal) here.

The net gain would be 35 points on such a bet - the fact you'd get your stake money back on the winning bet is irrelevant.

Why don't you just sod those two clubs and make the same bet on Bristol City & Cardiff City and rake in the winnings?

OK, so you'd lose your stake on the Bristol bet, but so what when you've got a great club like us to cheer on?

'The net gain would be 35 points on such a bet - the fact you'd get your stake money back on the winning bet is irrelevant' ..... correct.

As for betting on our lot, no thanks.
Clubs like Brum,West Ham,Leicester etc who have real money are the ones who look to have the best chance, Reading and Forest wont be far away either. Dare I say Cardiff as well and who knows about the promoted clubs, Norwich didn't do bad did they.
Whatever, the Championship is a fantastic league and can't wait to compete against such opposition.

then we will have total uproar, half a million posts with off with his head, BUT

the odds will go to something like 100/1 so £50 quid eachway would be nice when we pull it round !!!!! pay for the prem season ticket
