I have high hopes for October. As its now (apparently) a tradition on not606 to embarrass people with reminders of their stupid previous predictions, I thought we could formalise this with a thread devoted to collecting all the things we are going to wish we hadn't said. I'll go first. In October, we have 4 league game - Barnsley Home , Wednesday away, Charlton Home and Birmingham home. These teams are 17th, 21st, 20th, 19th in the league currently. And 3 of the 4 games are at home. Although there are no easy games in this division (blah blah blah) I predict we will get 10 points and be in a play off position at the end of the month. I also predict we will go through against Southampton on the 30th. And..... the takeover will still not have been signed on the 30th. But it will still not be dead. My wife will still not have divorced me. an attractive young lady (thats under 30 to me, we are not emulating a well known ex DJ here) will accost me in the street and confess she has wild fantasies about overweight, unfit, older men who were not that good looking even 30 years ago and who seem obsessed by doing nothing much other than watching football, and could I possibly ................. I am not sure about one of those predictions, to be honest. I doubt my wife can be bothered. Unless she finds out about the last one of course. and, after my dumb predictions, a question: reading this: http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/0/football/19813475 ............ am I the only one who has to blink to check it says Huddersfield and not Leeds, and then check the date?
Haha, it does say Huddersfield, and if you read on, you'll see that Clayton was sub'd in their last 2 defeats at the 60-70 minute mark. Don't tell me he's gone missing in a match!!! How unusual would that be? I still think we're well rid. Warnock was so right, and so awfully criticised for getting rid of Clayton. DM is one position this year where we haven't had anyone go missing.
I'd love to know which players NW really, REALLY regrets leaving, Whitejock. We had too many fancy dancers under SG who could impress but did not deliver consistently. I suspect NW saw through the fakes in about half a nanosecond. btw, no mention of Beckford in the Leicester game, what happened did he get injured? Anyone know?
