Well lads, continuing the monthly reviews of our season, which brings us to October.

After a very up and down month in September, our first game of the month took us to Manchester City, a difficult trip for anyone, but especially for us as we were against 14 men!

It felt our own hope in the season had gone in Hatem Ben Arfa, starting on the right hand side, faced a horrible challenge from Nigel De Jong, his trailing leg had its purpose, and it succeeded. Ben Arfa broke his leg, thus ruling him out for the season, devastation and confusion in the away end seeing him taken away on a stretcher. To add insult to injury, we never even got a free kick from the most inept referee in the Premier League, Martin Atkinson, but he then awarded Man City a free kick seconds later for a dive. Things just got worse really...

Tevez was through on goal, but was tackled by Williamson, a fantastic last ditch tackle, a round of applause from the away end, but the referee had other ideas. He decided it was a penalty, and since Willo was the last man we assumed he would have been sent off but he wasn't, just shows the referee doesn't know anything. Now, he won the ball clearly, and outside the box, something the referee's assistant should have helped him with, just like the other assistant should have helped him with the Ben Arfa challenge. Anyway, Penalty, 1-0. ****.

1-1!! **** me sideways we equalised! Gutierrez with a fantastic strike by his standards and by many, it was more than what we deserved for the **** refereeing that we had suffered. We were more than in this game, Tiote had Toure in his back pocket and we were dominating.

Adam Johnson was sent on with about 20 minutes left, and with his first attack, he scored. A great goal I must admit. 2-1 down, was there a way back?

There should have been, Ameobi was brought down by Lescott in the box, a clear penalty, nothing given of course. The match ended, we played well but lost and lost our best player. Once again, tipped for relegation. To make things worse, those scummy Man City fans(oh yes, lets feel sorry for them because they haven't won anything since the 70s!) were taking the piss out of Ben Arfa after the game, laughing and singing De Jong's name as we came out the ground. And to this day, I still ****ing hate them.

Anyway, we had a two week break and then Wigan at home, former mag Charles N'Zogbia put Wigan 2-0 up at HT. WTF was going on? Ameobi got one back for us, and then Colo equalised in the 94th minute! A small match report, but not one I care to discuss much, terrible performance.

We did however take the second half performance into our next game. West Ham away. 1-0 down and struggling, we then equalised through Nolan who pounced on the lucky bounce of the ball. This was the game where Hughton first wore his new suit, and how sexy did he look?

Second half, West Ham had nothing, we were fantastic, the passing was awesome, attacking was good and we had plenty of chances. Jose was my man of the match that day, but it could have went to anyone. Ameobi chased a ball down the right, played it back to Barton who played a sensational cross for Andy Carroll to head in from 6 yards. 2-1 up, we just knew we were going to win. The away end was bouncing, our second away win was just around the corner.

After West Ham, we had Arsenal in the cup, just a few days before 'that lot' at home. We played a very weak team, one that disappointed a few, but was understandable by many. The team that played was basically the team that won at Chelsea, so they did deserve their chance, and personally I didn't want anyone risked before the scum game. We more than matched Arsenal, and should have gone one up through Ranger but he showed a sign of things to come. Arsenal went one up in first half stoppage time, a fluke goal, but probably deserved on their earlier pressure. Second half, their second came through Walcott who was through on goal, but Williamson was blocked off purposely by Bendtner, thus Walcott had a free run. Arsenal got a couple more, and it finished 4-0, it flattered Arsenal but once again we were out of the cup, and it didn't help the rumours going round that Hughton was under pressure.

But, our attentions were only on one game. Halloween 2010, the one you have all been waiting for...but must wait.

Not much really. I would like people though, before I write it, to predict what happens in one sentence?

They came, they saw, they left and missed half the match as they lost heavily.
