Just got my internet back after 2 days, and read some of the posts but by no means all of them. SO I am not doing a poll,BUT WE NOW HAVE A NEW MANAGER.... BE HONEST......ARE YOU HAPPY WITH HIM.....will you give him x number of games, be prepared to go DOWN and come back up? Give him the whole of THE SEASON WITHOUT CALLING FOR HIS HEAD after Christmas whether he just keeps us clear, or indeed for most of it we are bottom 6??..... DONT BOTTLE OUT,SO YOU CANT BE NAMED AND SHAMED OR PRAISED AT A LATER DATE GIVE YOUR OPINION NOW
I THINK THE TIME TAKEN HAS BEEN WORTH IT, you cant just be managerless on a monday and have a new one on Weds..... IS he who I would want......I think GIVEN THE PROSPECTS OUT THERE HE PROBABLY IS, most of those bandied about are failures. I think IRRESPECTIVE of where we finish this season we should judge him by where we are on the 1st of March 2013. KEEF was in the job, got the job and most certainly was always chasing his tail....we will probably hear more of him somewhere else in the future where there is no pressure to start things off. Will I call for his head, AM I impatient ? no
John why are you answering your own question? I wanted Dave Jones, mainly because I was too ignorant to look into McInnes at first, when I looked him up and then this week spoke to some Scottish people in a meeting, they could not praise him enough, and they were Celtic fans! I am delighted with his appointment, even though I got excited when MON's odds dropped. I think he will have to have time to turn things around and even though this season could be a write off, if he can save us from the drop I will be more than happy, but if worse comes to worse and we can't avoid the drop. I think we can only judge him on his team which won't be until next season. So like you I am prepared to wait until the end of next season to judge him.
I wanted him to be appointed from the first moment I knew he was in the running - the bloke has WINNER written all over him and, as I have stated on here before, I believe that the team reflects the managers personality on the pitch - hence what we went through under KM I expect DM to keep us up with no difficulty, this is at worst, a middle table squad for this division however there is a pretty major re-build required here and if the worst were to occur in the process, I have no doubts that we will be straight back up... I have NO DOUBT that we have made the right appointment to take the club forward to the next level - I just hope he likes it enough to stay here for a LONG time and we grow with him...
I think he is a good appointment. Certainly looks and sounds the part..... As I've said before it's a gamble, but so are the rest that applied.. BUT having said that.........NO, Going down is NOT an option. He has enough games to stop that happening..........otherwise he will not be any better than what we had.....It was a stone wall cert that we would go down with Millen. If we are in the same position by Christmas, then something is very wrong, he will need to act strongly in the January window. If by February, we are in the same position, then I'm afgraid the pressure will be on him I have no doubt. My feelings and I hope they are right....McInnes will do a good job for us.........FINGERS CROSSED!!
wow thats commitment prem.. so our mid table squad almost makes it, but div 1 happens, question is will he stay? or be off to somewhere like Caledonian thistle, or maybe Wigan!
I would have very big doubts that we would go straight back up... Going down is not an option......He has plenty of games to sort it...........If not, the pressure will be on.
I would say any manager is a gamble, if he is the man for the job then surely you should support him through till at least the end of 2012/2013 season...we may just have a squad that is full of good individuals but are not a team, could try and rectify it at next window butstill finish up with a group of good players but not a team...will you be after his headin Feb if we are still in the bottom 3/4?
Afraid so John........ If he can't do it with the amount of remaining games that we have, then it's not working. Like I said, it's not an option to go down......There will be NO guarantee that we will come straight back up, look how long it took us last time. If we go down, the possibilites are; He could leave us anyway, Forget the stadium, SL would likey take even more of a back seat, Crowds will go down to 8000.. Just not an option John..
What about your toes? after all the fervour of the last 2 seasons I HOPE THE RESULTS ARE NOT GOING TO BE TOO BAD. I HAVE NOTHING CROSSED, was not too fussed bout who we had but as stated he was the best of the known bunch. for those that think the process was too long....read the interviews listen to the comments...60 or applied..? so do you say we want DMI and go to see him, offer him at least double if not treble what he is on now and pooh pooh the rest! NO you interveiw or let known to all failed candidates you dont require them, get rid of the chaff first, left then with a handful of corn and the odd uncut ear...DMI was the uncut ear..so to speak COME ON YOU REDZZZZzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz....get us doing the highland fling everytime we score
As I said, I don't expect it to happen... I think it will take DM around 3-4 weeks to sort the wheat from the chaff and that includes sorting Nicky out - i.e. do you want to stay and be part of something son...? Since this "will he, won't he" business started, I have firmly been of the opinion that NM simply didn't want to sign whilst KM was in charge - I know I wouldn't of. If he can see that something good is starting here I hope he signs, with a release clause, so everyone is happy. I genuinely don't believe that he is messing the club about and we should see some resolution on this front soon. A regalvanised NM scoring goals in tandem with Brett who he has a very good understanding with will be the key to us climbing back up the table...
I 2nd that Prem......... KM lost the plot IMO and players like Nicky could see it. Plus tha fact that playing NM up front on his own was idiotic at best. (not that sort of striker) we could see it but poor Keef couldn't.
last year, in as much as we stayed up, you were confident we were going down...would it not be better to wait till say 7/8 games left before venting your displeasure? could be we stay up finish maybe 20th, and rebuild or sort out prob in the Summer, If you read his history he is quite loyal only left StJ FOR A POSSIBLY GOOD OPPORTUNITY WITH THE BLESSING albeit with tongue in cheek of the board!
Keef got us in that position like he did this season....And it was plain for ME to see that he was never the right man for the job.. I'm sure DMI will do well and get us out of this mess........... But like I said...... we can not afford to go down and is NOT an option...... But hey, lets get positive, one thing for sure, he will do a better job than the last manager here..
..SO FAR WIGGLES HAS HAD 2 GAMES AND FAILED TO SECURE POINTS, DEMI gets a hot christening, I had this game as a draw5 games ago, not defending Keef but 3 of the signings in the summer we were all very happy about...for the future especially, the mediority expected from our squad never materialized...thats what we have a mediocre squad thats why we all/most expected to finish and be happy with 8th to 12th I would hope in his first few weeks he would play what he concieves as his strongest team with players that are likely to be dedicated to the club...and more importantly THE TEAM, MAY EVEN RECALL CLARKIE Since this "will he, won't he" business started, I have firmly been of the opinion that NM simply didn't want to sign whilst KM was in charge - I know I wouldn't of.............DIDNT SOMEONE PURPORT to say he was in the supermarket and would make a decisionoon after the new manager, not signed by end of November would not play him except for sub DD is that a 100% support till he is sacked then So far the consenus is give him a good run, into 2013 as he is tasked with "rebuilding with no target other than to keep us up" thats sad news for anyone wanting a quick fix...it possibly wont happen before Christmas, but we now have enough results to start predicting all bottom 10-12 teams
If he doesn't get us a win against Brum tomorrow by at least 3 clear goals, then I'm finished with him! Or, I might stick with him for 2 seasons even if he clearly shows he is miles out of his depth and will definitely take us down to the gas levels. With me being a fickle football fan I cant make my mind up... What to do .... what to do?
It's the boards fault why we are in this position and why the pressure is in DMi to get us out of it. Had Millen got booted when I said (once we were safe last season, or at the end of last season) then the new man would have had pre season to sort things out. Maybe DMi is a good manager, but IMO the pressure is on to make sure we stay up. All this rubbish that it makes no difference that we go down and we should still back the manager is nonsense. If we are playing well, we get results then of course I will back him.........otherwise he will be seen to be just another failure. Thats football!!
