    1. Shame about the result, Brighton were better in the first, City threatened and controlled the second half. You could sense the free kick was going in.

    2. The slagging off of Simpson on other threads tonight is out of order. He played well at Orient and Millwall and he was not that bad tonight.

    3. City should practice corners and free kicks.

    4. Elmo was good tonight, so was Brady... until the free kick.

    5. The Amex is a fabulous stadium with great acoustics, first time in ages the home support has been that loud. Shame the stadium is so far out of the town centre.

You forgot the goal that shouldn't of been allowed

Agree with all of the above. I'd even say Simpson was pretty good and I was annoyed he was taken off for Proschwitz who offers nothing.

Agreed, as a team chasing promotion when your out and out striker has 6 goals, its really not good enough at all. Simpson had done nothing and didn't look like scoring, at least changing it may have given us a little chance of scoring.

Both Simpson and Koren aren't working well together. Simpson never seems to be able to lay to ball off effectively and often ends up on the floor, he can't finish either and needs dropping. Koren has been off the pace and is struggling to make an impact. I don't even feel confident he can pop up with a goal anymore like he did last season. I'd try Meyler in his position, he's shown he has something when attacking and could make a difference. Boyd on loan would fill the position nicely too.

He's our second top scorer, and it's not as though he's spurning any clear-cut chances.

I'm not going to pretend he's been good enough, but in my opinion his overall goal tally is far less concerning than his drought.

Simpson and Gedo up top and Koren back in midfield for the next game?

I agree Simpson didn't do a lot , but I've never seen a substitution bringing on 2 strikers and it basically kill your chances of winning , we created 3 great chances and where starting to look like nicking it, then the subs came on and we barely had a sniff after that

I was surprised with the double substitution, Gedo for Simpson would have made more sense.

Very strange double substitution. We were bossing it at the time, why disrupt the rythm - would have taken the point, which seemed odds on. Mind you, silly free kick to give away. Other results didn't damage us too much though.

Simpson was poor as was Evans, his first involvement a free kick just outside the box, Evans that is. He later gave the freekick away in a similar position for their goal.

Simpson simply isn't good enough , it's saying something when I would rather see McLean up top
    Instead

McLean ? Now that is taking things a little too far.

    I agree!

Simpson plays as a pair with Aluko (although Gedo might be the better option once Aluko is back)

We were bossing it at the point of the substitution, but most of the attacking threat came from Brady and Elmo, not the strikers.

Quinn and Meyler should've done better with their chances as well.

I dunno if Boyd speculation is a good thing or not, afterall, he'll be a winger playing out of position.

    I agree apart from:

    3. I didn't rate Brady

    5. It isn't really that far away...

I'm pretty sure he isn't an out-and-out winger. He's more of a Snodgrass type player in that he's a playmaker who plays out wide. Im' sure he could do a job in the middle. He's a midfielder with ability and we don't have enough of those.

We definately need to practice corners, On too many occasions we never seem to beat the first man. Would Simpson benefit from playing as more of a poacher, (Like kevin Phillips), Just lurking around the box, Alot of the time he gets the ball he seems to be very deep or out wide.
