May be stating an obvious fact we all know already, but when Richard Naylor came back in for the last four games of the season, we only conceded two goals.

That's how much of an impact just having a leader at the back can have. Hopefully with a fit Paddy Kisnorbo and a dominant new signing like Higginbotham, we'll keep a similar record (and let's not forget that those last four games were nasty little fixtures too). I'm convinced O'Brien and Bromby still have a place here, they just need a bit of coddling from their partner, that's the way they play.

You look around at the top teams in the division and QPR had Gorkss, Norwich had Leon Barnett, Swansea had Ashley Williams etc. But will we be able to find a leader in that centre half position to maintain that improved defensive record?

O'Brien does. Alongside Naylor he looked a completely different defender. But Bromby, I don't really rate. He's never looked that assured to me, even when he's played with Kisnorbo or Naylor. I might be wrong but he looks weak. Alex Bruce is shocking and needs to be moved on. I'd rather Tom Lees be given a chance over any of those 3 anyway and would still like to see one top defender be signed.

O'brien and kissa sounds like it could work out, with Lees pushing them for a place. Of course i would love to see another cb come in, but i doubt it will happen <ok>

    I dont disagree...

i think Bromby did a decent job and think he should have been give a go earlier in the season...
obrien looked great at the start and we stopped for a while leaking goals.. but then normal service resumed

Now we have let naylor go and got rid of that shower collins to the blunts.........

we have Kissa, Bruce,OBrien,Bromby, and Lees..... if we add another we will have 6 CB ... so for me get rid of Bruce as i think he was the worse of the bunch..but i think we need decent CB to pair with Kissa and then the 3 squad CB still seems one to many..

the alternative is to play Lees with Kissa ? and no one to come in ::::

Spanish <ok> Thats would be the perfect solution but we maybe throwing him in a bit too quick, although his loan spell sounded really promising

What's certain is Bruce needs to be moved on. I reckon we could sign another defender, YEP were linking us with Woodgate today, so when they link us with a player it has more truth than other papers. I'd like to see Lees given a chance over Bromby and O'Brien.
