Anyone else on here a big Yorks CCC fan as well? Massively excited for the next 4 days against Notts, would be great to win the Championship again, and given the team we're putting our today with our England players back i'm very very hopeful of a resounding win.

yeah, still keep an eye on the county championship. Met the great Brian Close once, massive gnarled hands n smoking like a chimney - awe inspiring to a skinny runt such as I was then...

You've got to be a bit pissed off if you're one of the lads that is making way for Root or Ballance! I know Gale is one. Admirable, the skipper stepping to one side and all, but whoever else makes way (presumably Jack Leaning) is going to be pissed off. The game that potentially wins the championship and after playing most of the season you get dropped!

I stand corrected. Leaning is in and Williamson is out. Gone back to New Zealand?

Gale is banned too! Made for some easy decisions with Kane heading off for international duty

    Worked out well then!

On a side note, Adam Lyth has to be knocking on the England selectors door! 1300 runs, averaging 69, 5 tons and 5 fifties! Better showing than Robson!

118 for no wicket at lunch. I was wondering why my smartphone app hadn't notified me before. No wickets.

As far as i'm concerned England can bollocks, Losing Lyth as well as Ballance, Root and Plunkett to the test team, then Bresnan & Bairstow likely to be off to limited overs as well as seeing Lees, Leaning and Brooks off on Lions duty will be just taking the piss!

Love the cricket and often watch them at Scarborough and Chester-le-Street (10 minutes up road); rarely get to Headingley. Decided to join Co Durham next year, as with the fringe benefits it is excellent value at £165.; great days out!

There's still a Hull CC playing at YPI. The first team played in the Yorkshire Premier League last year but had to withdraw this season due to loss of players. They're hoping to get the firsts back into the YPL next season

Really gutted for skipper Gale - banned for overheating slightly in a Roses match, in the hearing of an umpire who just happens to have spent most of his playing career playing for... Lancashire! But as people have said, the return of the England boys more than made up for it.

Lyth, meanwhile, is not so much knocking on the England door as hacking his way through it, Jack Nicholson-style.

They are back in the Yorkshire Premier League next year, had an absolutely huge recruitment drive this summer will still struggle but the YPL have been brilliant with them saying they are allowed one year off then they can come back in. Wouldn't of done it for many other clubs. Think they lost two of their key players to Scarborough this year so will be interesting to see if they get them back.

Long time since i played for Hull CC mind you now (i am only 22 mind) first season back this year playing york senior and district league, got my bowling average to exactly 20 in the last game!

On topic great day for Yorkshire again, i think Lyth will probably be in England colours sooner rather than later and i think Lees is maybe 3/4 years away but he is definitely good enough.
