The Roger Lloyd Pack thread has got me thinking about **** sitcoms and I didn't want to clutter that thread up for obvious reasons. There have been some 'comedies' on over the years that I have just found utter dog manure and feel the need to name and shame the bottom three. 3. The Green Green Grass. What were they thinking? Should never have been made, an insult to OFAH, which as we've established we ALL love and cherish. 2. Father Ted. I had to sit through about ten episodes in one night whilst at the in laws over Christmas and don't think I so much as chortled once. Maybe it's for the Irish. 1. Red Dwarf. Just f**k off, seriously just f**k off. I have no more to say on this pile of steaming horse shizer without blowing a fuse. I make no apologies for saying this but anyone who uses the phrase 'Smeghead' needs a hard slap 'round the chops. Endex.
Never really seen it but from the odd bits I have been unfortunate to see it does look proper turdage.
Not a sitcom but can I offer a ****e 'comedy'? I never understood the huge and reasonably sustained success of Little Britain. I saw a few episodes and each character was literally in exactly the same sketches every time. They may as well have just made 1 episode every series and repeated it 12 times yet the country f**king lapped it up. You can say all that about The Catherine Tate show as well. f**king ****e the lot of 'em. As for strict sitcom, maybe something like The Brittas Empire would get a mention. Edit - thanks to Golaccio reminding me I'd also vote for Mrs Brown's Boys.
Let's extend it to comedies as a whole, including sketch shows etc. The one James Corden did with the other bloke was w**k. Proper w**kstain.
Anything with Miranda Hart in it, she ruins Not Going Out. Mrs Brown's Boys is right up there in the **** factor though. If not joint top.
Good call. I think James Corden is a knob but at least he's had the good grace to himself admit it was turgid.
Can't agree with Father Ted, which was at times priceless. Citizen Khan is truly dreadful. It Ain't Half Hot Mum was awful too. And yes, moving away from sitcoms, I agree with bummers about Little Britain, which was ridiculously juvenile and repetitive. Amazed how many adults appeared to find it funny.
Miranda - never before has a woman's face deserved to be punched without reason(Mrs Ben's words, not mine).
CeeGee, seriously, what the actual fook? Red Dwarf is one of the funniest things on the tele for ages. Corden and that Miranda bint, they can gtf. Father Ted I watched 1 of and knew it wasnt for me. Utter ****e. Red Dwarf though? Really? Thinking about your hatred of the Coxmeister, I'm starting to think you just hate anything with science in it.
Father Ted was OK, and some of the scenes with him and Father Dougal were piss funny. Mrs Brown's Boys is utter ****ing crap though, as was Red Dwarf, and the trailer alone was enough to put me off Citizen Khan. I'll throw Absolutely Fabulous into the mix, too. Absolutely ****ing ****e, more like.
Top 3 - Trailer Park Boys, Curb Your Enthusiasm, Arrested Development ****test 3 - How I Met Your Mother, Friends, Little Britain
tough one as i wont sit through a **** sitcom i despise the ones that are usually found on bbc1 or itv , in general they fall into a base category OH wait i have to watch The Big Bang Theory at work sometimes if we dont have a DVD. It is benial , the comedy is OK ONCE but every episode runs the same formula , they are geeks who are shocked by someones noninterest or misunderstanding in something geeky , - every episode is the same ill vote that , although there is ****e like Mrs Brown - But i do have respect for the actor as he writes and semi directs it himself , so i wont actually diss it .- its just the very show Ricky Gervais took the piss out of in Extras .
Yeah, Little ****ing Britain, too. And League Of Gentlemen. I like surreal stuff and I was looking forward to this when it came out, but I just couldn't learn to love it.
