I normally wound't give a flying about this but I've just seen Gordon Taylor on SSN and his take on the situation. The bloke refused to condemn Wilshere and came out with all sorts of nonsense in his defence, this less than a week after the World Cup has finished. A World Cup where we came bottom in our group, having managed a draw and 2 defeats. Woy though we did ok though? A World Cup where the uber efficient and professional Germany won their fourth World title. Is it any wonder eh? Could you honestly see a German player carrying on like Wilshire? With the likes of Taylor contaminating the game we're going nowhere fast and ahead of schedule.
Didn;t he get spotted smoking a while back too? or is this the same incident being brought back up? or am i making this all up? <laugh?
If he wants to smoke then that's up to him, Wenger explicitly told him not to smoke though, he's defied his boss' orders and made a mockery of both England and Arsenal. I hope Wenger comes down hard on him like a tonne of bricks.
If he wants to have a cig, let him, it's not like he's snorting coke off a hookers arsehole. Many footballers such as Slaven Bilic, Dimitar Berbatov and Gazza all smoked and they are/were all top footballers back in the day. If his boss told him not to then he should be reprimanded, but honestly if it's not going to affect his game then what difference would it make? It's hardly headline news.

Cant imagine smoking making much difference to an under 35yr old who trains everyday.Zidane has smoked from the age of 7 and i suspect many others we dont know about who have to much time on their hands to much money and stress.
Not bothered if players smoke, unless its crack cocaine in which case that would be a problem. I can't imagine someone like Usain Bolt smoking, but a footballer like Wilshere, can't see what massive difference it would make.
Smoking will affect how you perform during sporting events. If it didn't then more sportspeople would be doing it. The evidence is out there. Smoking kills. It affects your body in ways you wouldn't believe. I see it every day at work. Just say no kids. The best thing is not to start in the first place. People like Wilshere should be setting a better example as kids will see him and think it's ok to do it.
I hope a few more are found to have been doing similar, at least there's one explanation for the poor performances.
The biggest thing that's wrong is that the entire country jumps put in outrage at the slightest little thing. They expect all these young lads to be saints and the shining examples of teachers pet etc. Wilshere could probably be photographed stepping on an ant by accident whilst walking and half the country would fly off the handle and he'd be called an insect murderer across the land.
I've seen more dead people as a result of drinking alcohol, either directly or indirectly than I've seen from smoking. I'm not suggesting smoking is good for you, it clearly isn't, but the knee jerk reaction it gets I find baffling. Kids setting themselves up for diabetes in later life, and in some cases not that much later seems to get less excitement than smoking, which is bizarre.
A total OTT reaction. I like way footballers are treated like murders for little things like this, but then get no press coverage when they something for charity.
He's on holiday unwinding after a long season - he's probably got 3 weeks off to relax and enjoy himself before he goes back to training to train hard for another 11 months. I've no problem with it myself.
There were no children at the pool party he was at so how can he be setting a bad example to the kids? If the press choose to spy on him, take pictures with a telescopic lens and plaster them all over the papers then any influence it has on children is their fault.
