Looks like Walter Smith has turned them down now, after Curbishley (twice) and McDermott........ not exactly a vote of confidence is it?

So any potential candidate is at least fourth choice now. Bruce would be favourite I guess now

I think they would have given the job to the Dinner Lady but dissenting voices from the Wolves fans seems to have put paid to that.

As a side they look to be on a par with us in the PL - not enough quality in the side - Hunts either injured on the bench or plays like a headless chicken, whilst the likes of Karl Henry are nowhere near PL standard. Not good enough and will go down.

Hope they go down!! They've well and truly ****ed this one up! I'd like to know what Jez Moxeys visions for the club are considering Curbs has said they were so much different from his!

Any manager with a shred of self respect wouldn't take what's on offer there.

Transfer window gone. Under-achieving squad limping fixture to fixture. Short term contract, potentially no reward if you keep them up.

It's all stacked far too heavily in the Chairman's favour. Nothing in it for a manager who doesn't have something to prove. You just wait for a better offer.

This is very similar to the situation we were in.
When people were shouting for Phil Brown to be sacked they had a vision of top name managers banging on the KC Stadium door begging to be given the job.
    We finished up with Dowie.

They should have kept Mad Mick, the same as we should have kept Phil Brown.
Phil Brown would probably not have kept us up, but it would have removed an endless debate that appears on this site.

For £500k a year I'd be prepared to have a crack at it.

I'd probably be better than Bruce and I'd definitely be better than Dowie.

I you're gonna sack a manager at some point during the season, and you're in a relegation scrap at that moment, you need to at least give them a decent crack it. Allow them time to make a difference. Otherwise it's just not attractive to anyone who doesn't have to take that risk.

Wolves have held on too long, then gambled, and are losing.

I think you have to decide with at least half the season left, no matter what the situation in the league, whether you stick or twist.

Expect an announcement on Dowie imminently.

Correct John <ok> They seem to be mirroring our second PL season, playing out of their skins against the big sides and then getting results like they had against WBA and teams around them. Sacking Mick now has looked like a bad move given how many managers have turned the job down, though it could be seen his position had become untenable after the defeat and manner of it to WBA.

earlier this afternoon thought Phil Brown would be the Wolves manager. They are running out of candidates, his tan would suit the wolves tie and kit, he would probably love to be a PL manager again before of course becoming next england manager - as he obviously is the best man for that job.

Joke a mate told me today.

I've applied for the England manager's job.
I know I won't get it, but it keeps the dole people off my back for another couple of weeks.
My mate made the mistake of applying for the Wolves job.
He's got to go for an interview on Monday.

I wouldn't call £5m 'next to nowt', it was probably more than they were worth and they certainly won't recover that money if they try and flog them.

how much of that did we still have to pay out for the pair ? but agree that you could have both for a million now and that would be more than they are worth.
