****ing weird. Only this morning I was talking to a taxi driver about how she'd ****ed up her life and what a shame it was. Then she goes and dies! Can't even remember how we got on the subject.
What's weird is that with the long "aaaaaaaah" chant thing that was going on I said to the guy next to me it felt like they were about to break into "I will always love you". It's probably the first time she's come into my head for years. Next time it happens I'm going to say they're about to break into "Oh Baby"
I remember being so happy when 2 Unlimited's No Limit knocked her off number 1 in the charts. Given my age at the time I thought it was a million times better than 'I will always Love you'. However, on reflection 20 years later............ ah **** it, 2 Unlimited were still better. But she was a decent singer. Not to my taste but I appreciate others enjoyed her style. And no-one should die unneccessarily at 48. RIP!
If that also works perhaps you could do requests. I'm sorry she has died, but I never really rated her as a singer. She's responsible for this kinda singing... ...which is unforgivable.
I think she'd been somewhat troubled for many years, drugs and the like. That Bobby Brown geezer was not the most helpful influence in her life, so I gathered anyway from gash celeb shows on channels such as 'Viva', and 'E4'.
Sorry to put this and rip whitney but saw it on fb and thought i would share whitney houston to star in new film 'the bodybag'
I hated Whitney Houston too and am not a fan but as you get older you appreciate people who have talent I suppose. Too many X-Factor type shows nowadays showcasing talentless wannabees!
I went around the Country Music Hall of Fame in Nashville a couple of weeks ago and our guide told us that song on its own made Dolly Parton $50-60m (most of it as a result of the bodyguard soundtrack being the best-selling of the 90s). Made me think "hmm, so all I need to do is write one amazing song and I'm on easy street"
Fantastic singer - loved her hits of the 80s and have to admit I droolled over her. Saw her in concert at the NEC Birmingham as a young star in 1988. Didn't like her post Bodyguard hits. Where did her life go so horribly wrong. R.I.P Whitney.
