Unfortunately because of commerce, if we want to sell our goods to countries outside of the EU, we have to offer Incentive Marketing.
In other words, while countries have can have their own nuclear proliferation, launching satellites into space etc, they have enough poor people that we, as a modern, industrialised nation with a middle class conscious, have to be seen to do our bit.
As Michael Caine pointed out, when berated by a gentleman from the sub continent about the way Britain raped his country, he doesn't believe he or any of his family benefitted from that rape so go and complain to the people who did.
I've booked seats to see the tour of the new Yes Minister play. I have all the DVD's of the original series and believe it to be one the most accurate and humourous but at the same time frightening series of all time.

It's like the Black Sabbath song Wicked World from 1970 "They can put a man on the moon quite easy, while people here on Earth are dying of all diseases" has anything changed? i am painstaking before I give any money to a charity to know that the highest proportion goes to help those in need rather than admin or lining the founders own pockets. I think Britain should be as well. Look at the boxing day tsunami funds... millions went "missing" criminal really!

Hate all the enforced charities have to contribute to children in need because you have to send your children to school with money and you are an old git if u don't pick up the phone and donate because some no name has made a fool of themselves on TV
I give regularly to a disadvantaged children's charity and don't need some plonker on tv to make me do so I do it cause I believe in it and I know my money is going to help someone for real!
As for sending money to places like India surely all you are doing is helping support a class system far worse than anything we have ever experienced, they can afford to do something themselves but choose not to do so would rather waste their money on Blackburn Rovers!
