i was watching a programme about internet stalking, and the girl said the stress had caused her to ocd and pick up loads of weird habits, unfortunately she then went on to list loads of stuff i do ..ha ha

checking doors are locked 3 or 4 times before going to bed, checking taps are turned off 3 or 4 times before i leave the house, and most bizzarely, whenever i turn a light off i always have to press it down 2 or 3 times to make sure its all the way off ever since once when i was a kid i only clicked it half off once and thought i might set the house on fire..

does anybody else have any weird habits they want to get off there chest?

    1) spend hours with one eye closed lining stuff up

    2) left sock on first every time

    3) can't just flick the kettle on without adding water to it even if there's plenty in it.

    4) can never order the same dessert as someone else when out in a restaurant.

Everytime I wash my hands I have to splash some water on my face.

    Left sock/ shoe on first.

Look out of my bedroom window before going to bed.

Check my car is in first gear at least three times when stopped at traffic lights.

    There are lots more.

For those of you who check your car is in first gear all the time, buy an automatic, life's too short.

I reckon my weirdest habit is constantly checking the internet for sports news and stuff even though you know most likely that nothing has happened in the last five minutes, reckon I've wasted a few months of my life doing that already!

I think I need a dose of OCD, then at least I'd have a tidier flat.

I have some routines. Eg, in the shower, the routine is; hair, face, body, genitals. Always that way, never deviate. It's a four step guide to cleanliness. And subsequently, happiness.

    There it is.

To the OP, I saw the program you refer to as well. The girl had developed those symptoms after having been tricked into have naked pictures and images of herself put online by her nutcase boyfriend. I hope you didn't befall the same fate? You can get them removed <ok>

I have to deal with a few people that have a really annoying habit of breathing in and out at regular intervals. If they had any consideration they'd stop.

This is a bit mental but I used to do random audits on my underkegs.

My under pant drawer was set our in a very military style and I had to know where every single pair was at any given time.
If I couldn't find a pair I would literally turn the house upside down until they were found.
Her indoors thought I should be sectioned whenever this occurred, which to be fair wasn't that often as I usually kept a track on where each pair was.
Those days are over for me now and I'm a lot more relaxed when it comes to under cracker discipline.

    That isn't right is it?

Brilliant, I've been likened to Gazza.
Let's just hope a local nut job doesn't go on a gun rampage which ends in a police stand off.

With my Gazza like tendencies I might end up down at the scene with a swing ball and a couple of pot noodles.

Before I passed my test 2 years ago I loved the sound of an automatic. Then I realised it's not quite as simple as Drive, Reverse, Neutral.
I really don't get them at all (although I've never really asked for explanation) I look at the gearstick of my Dad's car and it has about 6 different settings, which equals that of a manual :S
    I'll stick to what I know <laugh>

Like you say, I thought it saved you a lot of bother when I was learning but now I just think an automatic would make things boring.
