Cav for the Maillot Jeune today?...I think Nibali will be too strong in the mountains overall. Surprised Froome is 6/4, no value at all...
I suppose a lot will depend on what the Giro took out of Nibali, he looked pretty imperious in the mountains there and this tour has some seriously tough stages, should be a cracking tour overall...
Cav must be gutted, he was hot favourite for this stage and that pile up stuffed him. One minute the finish was at the 3km marker then it was back to the proper finish, as Wubba said, you couldn't make it up!...
Great race lads Tomorrow should be a beautiful stage as will be the one up to Calvi ... Mrs DT and I love that road as it goes through the Calanches and Piana to Porto is one hell of a road
They couldnt organise a piss up in a brewery, what a complete farce. The bus being there getting stuck, then leaving it there for 15 mins without doing the obvious thing and backing it up. Then changing the finish to a middle of a chicane with 5 mins left, then changing it back with 3 mins left. The only thing they got right was giving everyone the same time even though they crashed more than 3km out which was less than 3km at the time!
They just have, everyone gets the same time, even those who crashed more than 6km out because the bus broke the timing so the stage is meaningless apart from giving riders different jerseys tomorrow.
Shame for cav as he looked to be holding his strengths in reserve for the finish and yellow jersey Bastia looked v nice though and I'd wager a decent seafood gaff around the harbour - maybe DTs not so biased after all
Not that into bike racing myself but my wife and I have watched the race each night for several years now just because of the lovely scenery / aerial shots that are constantly shown. The little towns and villages up to the mountain tops and back down the valleys to the flowing rivers ..................... marvellous stuff. If the Aussies are faring well, that's a bonus.
Didn't realise this was on ITV4. Corsica certainly does look rather special. Otherwise the race is as baffling to me as always.
Great finish and the lad was very brave going it alone and managed to hold on by 1 second giving him the yellow jersey.
Yes I was pleased for him. A day in the sun for a domestique Froome looked fired up. Both he Sagan and chabanel looking strong
