Should bring Whistle Test back and sack X factor, great performance. I was lucky enough to meet Feargal in the 90s and he seemed a top bloke.
Jeez. 2004 when John Peel died. How the last 8 years have flown by. Great loss and sadly missed by all music fans.
Sharkey's face has to be one of the seven natural wonders of the world. I just cant stop staring, trying to work out just what is going on there.
Time flies it was 26th February 1981 ! Found a list of all concerts they played. Apparently at Dingwalls in 1983.Where was that? Was it upstairs from HoffBrauhaus?
George Street, next door to that club that had phones on the table, so you could abuse people without getting up. It burned down in 1985.
Dingwalls was opposite Trog Bar. A double fronted place with Hoffenbraus Bierkeller, it did burn down......and the land was later used as a car park.
I know your usually spot on, but i thought it was the same place. Nobody went to Dingwall's so it was made into the nightclub-Odyssey, which burnt down ahem in a terrible accident. The DJ was called Carl Christian(not his real name) and i was a VIP gold member.
He used to live down our street. Had a gold Cortina, a bubble perm, leather coat and big sunglasses - straight out of The Sweeny.
Really? Chazz I always pictured you more as a Paul Weller look a like, not a Reagan from the Sweeny. I feel a little sad now
I thought they were next door to each other, but my memory isn't what it was, so I'll take your word for it. A good mate of mine, who was a well know local boxer, had an altercation with some jack the lad bouncer at Oddessey and ended up on an ABH charge, that was almost an attempted murder charge. He claimed he'd been attacked, punch several times and then kicked on the floor, putting him in hospital for several weeks. A dozen wintneeses game forward to say the bouncer had tried to start a fight, got punched once and then fell down the stairs. The case was dismissed.
