http://www.mirror.co.uk/3am/celebrity-news/led-zeppelins-robert-plant-turns-4595788 I know there's more important things in life than money but in the vote 'would you turn down £500 million' 27% agree with him. I'm not one of them. I guess when you have so much money there comes a stage when you just can't be arsed. A bit like a footballer having to play a game at Burnley I'd say.
It could be the case of either once you've already sold your soul to the devil , theres no buying it back. OR Pride & Integrity and Artistic license just cannot be bought. I liked Plants reference to his need to be creatively unhindered in his performing persona. Perhaps Robert thinks , the £500 mill , might be good. But without support from Branson, he may not be around long enough to spend it.
Who stole the stairway? It wasn't me, guv... http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/art...and-toured-three-years-hit-song-released.html
I'd be nervous flying in 1 of Branson's aircraftto a point I'd refuse to let him bus me around the world.
Plant reaffirms his status as the most progressive and forward-thinking member of the 1970s British rock megastar fraternity.
Who stole the stairway? It wasn't me, guv... i am sure led zep had to pay off some american blues singers in the 70s or 80s.whole lotta love springs to mind.
Willie Dixon wrote a song called You Need Loving for Muddy Waters. Plant lifted/borrowed/copied some of the lyrics for Whole Lotta Love. They settled out of court in 1985 and Dixon has co writing credits with Page, Plant, Bonham and Jones.
Memphis Minnie has a co-credit on When The Levee Breaks. The Lemon Song is co-credited to Chester Burnett. Here's a version especially for TheCasual:
ABBA turned down a few billion to reform. Bjorn thought they would be regarded more as a tribute act than a real band.
Willie Dixon wrote You Need Love for Muddy Waters. Steve Marriott and Ronnie Lane took some of the lyrics, altered the order of some verses and renamed it You Need Loving. Plant lifted the Small Faces version. He was a big fan of Marriott. Ironically Marriott was first choice as singer when Led Zeppelin was being formed but couldn't get out of his contract and it was he who recommended Plant.the funny thing is that Dixon never sued Marriott and Lane who didn't mention Dixon on their version and had them down as writers. The video shows how much a copy of Small Faces version the Led Zeppelin one was and how Plant was influenced by Marriott in his vocal.style. That's fantastic. Apparently the first time Hendrix played in England was when he went to watch Cream and Chas Chandler asked if he could Jam with them to Killing Floor. Clapton tried to be clever and Jimi just blow him away. Clapton just stormed of stage mid stage.
As a muscian I'm willing to help out this Fred Zeppelin choir. I play the triangle and flute and I'm available for the O3 Arena at Melton anytime next year with the exception of a Thursday, my bingo night. I would use the proceeds to buy a dozen ferrets and a large jar of ointment to combat my scurvy.
