Remarkably, after living for 54 years and gigging for 39 of them, I have never played - nay never even set foot in this pub! I am playing there on Saturday night. What it's like as a venue and is the 1) crowd ok? 2) beer ok? Any thoughts??
It's run by 2 people I've known for some time, Richard and Lee. They keep a good pint and the low ceiling makes for good acoustics.
Shameless self promotion. Surely there's a no advertising rule on here?? Bloody good band though, I may get a cut........
Cheers Pendulum, I've spoken to Richard a couple of times and he came across as a nice friendly fellow. We're really looking forward to playing there.
The guitarist in Reloaded use to play in the band with me, before I jacked it in. Don't worry, I'm watching out for all speed camera's, I'm on nine points again.
If that's a bid to manage us Chazz my only worry is that you might monitor our post rehearsal drinking down at the 'office'
What sort of music do you cover, Lincoln? I guessing by your bands name and avatar Bowie/Ronno, Small Faces?
Do you cover Tin Soldier? Great song.
Indeed we do... and I have the pleasure of singing the high girly part!
The Sun Inn gets a good crowd - Fridays usually full, Saturdays usually completely rammed - and Richard and Lee are good blokes who really try hard to support live music. I've played there several times and always had a good night. The down side is where you set up - your amps are facing stone walls so it's a nightmare to get a good sound around the gaps.
I guessing by your bands name and avatar Bowie/Ronno, Small Faces?
That plus Mott The Hoople, ELO, Squeeze, Stones, Beatles, The Move, Spencer Davis, Whitesnake, Foreigner, TRex and other 60s-70s stuff!
