The stats for the ten most burgled post codes has just been released.

London has 5 of the top 10, Manchester 1, Bradford 1 and the Mecca of the North, Leeds, has 3 including the coveted number 1 slot.

    Hull does not feature.

I wonder if the Yorkshire Post will be all over that little gem?

It's on The Daily Mail web site if anyone's interested.

I'd link that to the Leeds board, just so they know!

Elland Road must be, they keep suffering from 6 fingered discount being applied to their players.

In terms of population proportion Leeds is not doing well there - and it can't have anything to do with socio-economic (bet that word is a rarity on the whole site) conditions, as isn't Hull the worst place for finding work.

Finally, Leeds top of the table at something.

HU6 is at #12 in the table. So we don't escape totally.

Remember this is number of insurance claims not actual burglaries, a lot of people don't have insurance or don't claim and minor burglaries don't always get reported.

I've lived in Leeds for 6 years never had a problem, including 4 years in the student area, my house in HU10 however has been broken into 3 times.

i was burgled in 1996 - that night i slept under the still busted window in the kitchen with a claw hammer hoping some scroat would try again .
we didnt have much then but the scum ****s took what we had , we found it at a second hand shop on SpringBank , the cock sucking policeofficer at Queens Gdns asked me if i would pay part of the cost to get my goods back .
I told him what i thought of him , the secondhand shop keeper and the burglar and just took my stuff and left .

the copper also said SH shops are a good thing and serve the local community well - as i say cock sucker !!!

When i lived in Roundhay, Leeds I had a Fiat Uno that wouldn't start, so I left it outside my flat & went to Scarborough for a couple of days, when I went back my car had gone, someone had managed to steal a car that didn't work. I reported it to the police & heard nothing until a year later, I had left Leeds & moved back to Scarborough. I got a phone call saying they had found my car, I had forgotten about it, so I went through to find that it was about 2 streets away from where I lived & still didn't work. They wanted to charge me £50 to get it back to me or they would scrap it. I asked how much to scrap it & they said nothing, so I left the car for them to sort out & never seen it since. Still have the key for it somewhere though.

He went into one of the girls room and tried to nick her computer - she chased him and pushed him down the stairs - he left the computer but ran out the back door where he had broken in - taking the food he had already piled just outside the door!
