Can understand the likes of Wiggo nominated for this but some of the others? Not sure why the rowing woman is there for starters and Poulter isn't nominated after the amazing Ryder Cup win, largely down to him. Not even a sniff for our own Luke Campbell.

Too many gold medalists for Campbell to get nominated, if he were a heavyweight he might have been though.

my pick is still Laura Trott (push iron & mentalist) then Greg Rutherford (long jump) then Wiggins .

I reckon the final 3 will be

Jess Ennis (bbc totty) Mardy Murray (post girl totty) Mo Farah (Brendan Fosters love child - but at least a good laff)

If Wiggins doesn't win, then they should scrap it.

The man rides a Lambretta ffs.

I'm even more impressed if that's the case, he was up against blokes on push bikes and still won. <ok>

    Wiggins, Ennis, Farah.

Whatever the outcome, it will probably be the closest and toughest decision made for sports personality for a while with several big names missing out.

Wiggins has to win it, he's the best sports personality this countries ever had- Tour de France then Olympic Gold, on top of that he nearly ran himself into the ground trying to get Cavendish a gold, the guy is a proper legend

I've heard Dean Marney is a late contender.

Something to do with a goal celebration?????

It has to be Wiggins, Ennis or Farah. Can't really decide between them myself - all of them have pretty much achieved the absolute peak of what is possible in their respective sports/disciplines (and they are damn competitive disciplines as well).

Plus winning Paris-Nice, Tour de Romandie and Critérium du Dauphiné and actually having a good sense of humor to take the piss when collecting the yellow jersey in paris.

Anyone talking about Luke Campbell is deluded, and only devalues any genuine claims about "Hull" being pushed aside by the media.

Not saying Campbell should win it but how is his achievement (or any of the other gold medallists) any less than say Ennis, who also won one gold medal but for some reason is celebrated much more?

the obvious winner in 2009 should have been eddie izzard for doing 43 marathons in 51 days. he wasn't even listed to vote for. the rest of that year's so-called achievements - and this year's - are a tiny slice of puffy embroidery in comparison. the whole thing is a media stitch up and not worth a microsecond of anybody's thoughts.
