Interesting reading the comments - the comments on George Boyd's articles were full of comments from people almost wishing him dead for spitting, saying he should be banned for life etc, etc... Fellani does it for Man Utd and majority of the comments are 'meh...' beside a few saying ban him.

Feel sorry for Boyd being lumped in the same category as Fellani.

The thing is, he'll be banned for spitting, and the FA will completely ignore the blatant elbow in Zabaleta's face, which should give him an even longer ban.

He was given a yellow card for the elbow so they can't take action against it. It would still only be a 3 game ban. (plus any additionals for previous cards)

    This is interesting though:

"Governing body will request more footage of the incident before determining a course of action - there will be no update before next week"

    On two counts:

    1) That video isn't enough evidence to charge Fellaini, yet the slow mo footage of Boyd was enough to charge him despite even Hart turning round saying it was misleading and he didn't spit at him. How does that work?

    2) On the opposite approach to 1), if the FA are asking for more footage it suggests they're going after Fellaini. That could be the result of the fuss about the ref only giving a booking for the elbow, and them knowing they can't upgrade it to a red they're looking for an excuse to ban him for something else.

That's a shocker. There's been a few of these glaring inconsistencies this season with the FA's review panel and this is right up there.

Boyd was given a 3-game ban for an image which showed something come out of his mouth while shouting. Fellaini is clearly shown leaning over him to spit down onto a player already laid on the floor and he gets away with it! Bruce keeps saying Boyd isn't the type to do that, well who could be more 'that type' than Fellaini? One of the nastiest ****s in football.

Actually I've just seen the replay on SSN from the other angle and it's clear he just does it near Zabaleta but not at him. So right decision. He's still a twat though.

The FA aren't known for being consistent <ok>

I actually though Hart looked like he spit as well in the Boyd incident. No excuse for it whoever it is but don't expect the FA to be fair and equal.

The truth is his elbow deserves a ban, the FA have missed a chance to punish him. The rule that says they can't look into it if the ref deals with it on the night is wrong to me.

That's what annoyed me about the Boyd one. There were images that showed both of them with stuff flying out of their mouth. The only difference seemed to be thart MOTD picked up on Boyd but not Hart. Neither were incriminating enough for a ban IMO.

Spitting is horrible but imo you either punish both or none.

    Sending-off offences

A player, substitute or substituted player is sent off if he commits any of the following seven offences:

    serious foul play
    violent conduct
spitting at an opponent or any other person
denying the opposing team a goal or an obvious goalscoring opportunity by deliberately handling the ball (this does not apply to a goalkeeper within his own penalty area)
denying an obvious goalscoring opportunity to an opponent moving towards the player's goal by an offence punishable by a free kick or a penalty kick
using offensive, insulting or abusive language and/or gestures
receiving a second caution in the same match

    Read more at http://www.thefa.com/football-rules...fouls-and-misconduct.aspx#TFFj0rhxAigjef1W.99

This has really pissed me off, I knew from the start that Fellaini would get away with it. The guys a ****ing thug and has been assaulting opposing players for years.

i remember Hart having a huge lump of goz fly out his mouth - its clear he wasnt spitting as he was yelling at Boyd in a manic manner
same must be said for Boyd , tho in the slo mo he pursed his lips when slowed down it looks like a spit but i reckon when played at full speed with all the clip available (not the gif) it shows the same shouting with fleg as Hart .

For a 3 game ban - it is a big ban - it must be undeniably deliberate , aimed and corroborated by others .

It doesn't matter what the video shows, when Joe Hart has turned round and said "he didn't spit in my face" for Boyd to get suspended for spitting in his face is a total ****ing joke. It's not like he spat on his back where Hart could have not realised it happened, if someone spits in your face at that distance when you're looking at them you don't miss it happening.
