A logical choice and one of the few I would have ever considered capable, now that Snodgrass has gone <ok>

I'm sure he has the passion that Bassong TOTALLY lacked last season!! <ok>

Off topic slightly but who do we think are our best/worst captains?

Got to be Forbes hasn't it?

Martin seems the natural choice for captain and therefore a good one, IMO.

As for the best, Forbes perhaps, but I'd be inclined to go with Holt.

Holt certainly had the passion! Too young to have seen Forbes.

At the time, Adrian Forbes (though I accept most of you are not talking about this 'Forbes') may have made a decent team captain, and possibly like Rusty, a very good club captain as he was a very well spoken guy. Nice guy too boot <ok>

Oh Forbes had the passion too, he led by example, Holty also led by example but had the skill to lift the whole team and drive them on when looking for a late winner!

Was interesting to see that Johnson took the band when Martin was subbed in the Dereham game.

I am a little surprised by the appointment. Not because he is not a good captain, more because I was not expecting him to be a regular first choice starter this season. This seems to indicate that his will be the first name on the transgender.

I was a bit perplexed as well, Cromer.

    Perhaps he's feeling cross!

He's probably moving to CB this season which should be a good move for him. Given the number 5 especially seems to imply this and I think he played there yesterday.

Weak captain, good character to have around the team but not decent leadership material, was on the pitch during countless batterings last season and just kept quiet rather then inspiring his back line to hold it together.

he's a very poor centre back. he looked out of his depth yesterday against a level 8 side. if he plays centre back next season we will have problems. great guy, leads by example, good right back - play him there and let bennett and turner strike up a partnership. if needs be use him in an emergency but not as first choice. i'll be very concerned if he starts the season in that role.
