    Donald 'Duck' Dunn - bass-player for Eric Clapton, Neil Young, Bob Dylan, etc - has died in Tokyo, aged 70. He also played in Booker T & the MG's, on this album:

    Speaking as a bass player who grew up learning to play his lines - and indeed stills play them today, I can tell you he was truly inspirational. Most of the great soul records of the late 50s, 60s through to the early 70s features Duck Dunn on bass. I hope he's up there somewhere swapping great bass lines with the late great motown legend James Jamerson! RIP Duck Dunn...
