I'm in newcastle on saturday and need a pub to watch England near to the Railway Station and the Metro Arena, thought of maybe shearer's @ SJP. Any better Ideas?
I go to uni there mate. SJP is a little bit of a walk away from central station. I would say Shearers is expensive for what you get, if you head up towards the gate most of the bars along there leading up to gate change to "Match Day Bars" providing very cheap drink and "half time entertainment" to watch. There is a decent Irish bar directly opposite central station which will show the match Warning it does get a bit rough however i watch the final day of the 08/09 season in Players (inside the gate) in my City shirt amongst newcastle fans and got a fair bit of abuse and afterwards there was alot of trouble in central Newcastle and police told me to cover up. In short head towards The Gate and you wont be let down.
