Taking my son, the Posh fan, to see the game against the Binners this Saturday. As I am fervently hoping for a repeat of last season's 7-1 thrashing does that make me a plastic?
I can say with almost certainty that we won't concede 7 again, not whilst we have McCarthy in charge.. I am a little nervous about this one as Posh are an enigma as always. Hopeless to sensational in a matter of minutes and then back again. We on the other hand have become very steady and consistent and like your lot, there are a few supporters who aren't happy with the negative football but it's a case of 'needs must' for both of us to stumble over the line this term and regroup ready for next seasons fun and games to begin all over again.
I have taken a lot of pleasure from my son's reaction to some of Posh's more unexpected results. As you say they can go for from the sublime to ridiculous in a matter of minutes. He was, however, gutted that they did not turn up for the cup tie.
That Dwight Gayle is some player though. On loan from league 2 Daggers as well He has certainly got a few goals in him and has added some quality to their attack and I fancy he'll be a big player for them from now until the end of the season.... though hopefully he doesn't get a kick on Saturday
He is. I thought the loss of Boyd to Middlesbrough would mean curtains for Posh but happy they have moved. Will you be missing the two who got sent off last night? And how is Mclean working out for you. He was a useful player for Posh, albeit at a lower level.
You're right. It was Mclean who left for Middlesbrough. As I say my son is the fan - I go with him for the joy of watching football together.
McLean went to Hull as well Fleckie and is now on loan at the Binners so may well turn out at his old club on Saturday lol - if I wasn't off to Carrow Road I'd probably try to get a ticket for the game to cheer on the Posh against the old enemy !
It'll make Peterborough station intertesting on Saturday - there's a train in from Ipswich about 10 minutes before my train for Norwich leaves - there's about 20 or so City fans who catch the same train !
