Apologies for being way off topic here, but I would appreciate some advice please. It's time for me to upgrade my phone. I have a choice of these phones for the tariff that I have chosen, but have no idea about which one would be most suitable. I have googled them all and read reviews and seen them being used on youtube. My current phone is a Sony Ericsson Satio with a 12 mp camera. Has anybody had any experience of the following phones? What did you think of them? Thanks in advance..... Galaxy Fame Galaxy S3 mini HTC8S HTC1 mini Nokia Lumia 625 Experia SP
Is the aversion to Apple out of principle or cost? I love the Iphone and currently have the 4S but I can understand why people would not appreciate the things thye do as far as the closed software and the obvious extra price.
I recently branched out into the world of smartphones with a (talktalk recommended) Huawei Ascend. Biggest pile of scheisse ever put together I managed to get them to cancel the contract (2 years) for that and start anew with a Samsung Galaxy Fame. Haven't looked back since. 4gb of internal memory, whereas some have so little that to download a new app, you have to delete an existing one to clear space - even with a micro sd card installed No experience of the others on your list, bor, but it's Fame all the way for me ( well, I am from the most well known place in North Norfolk ) http://www.gsmarena.com/samsung_galaxy_fame_s6810-5279.php
I agree with ur aversion 2 Apple - Android is better OS, but if u want a mobile that's easy to use, then the IPhone wins. Can recommend whichever Samsung u prefer or HTC One if u get the option of it.
Not tried the Xperia SP, but I've currently got the Xperia U, which is a cheaper model, and I've been very, very impressed with it. Equally a friend's got the top-end Xperia Z and reckons it's the best phone he's ever had. I'd personally be careful about a Windows phone, as the amount of apps available for there are much, much fewer () apps available for it than an Android or iOS model. If apps aren't your thing though, it's probably not an issue.
As long as I can make a call, text and has a half decent camera, that's all I really need. Also decent sized buttons so I don't hit 3 buttons with one one finger
Lumia camera's are meant to be pretty good, and I've been impressed with what Sony have packed into my phone, don't know about the others.
I really like 'Swype' (text input method on Samsung - though other mobiles may have it too) - toook me a little getting used to, but really lilke that and 'predictive text' on there.
Batteries in Sony mobiles have been **** lately, bought an Xperia T last week for around 240 pounds, great piece of technology but with heavy use you have to recharge it three times a day, very frustrating.
