That's more of a crash than a landing. On the other hand, teaching somebody to land a plane when you're in the cockpit with them is hard enough. Must be a total bitch over the radio.
Got to be careful with that, same thing happened to me on Ryanair andwhen I told them what had happened they tried charging me extra for providing me with "the Pilot Experience package".
This is a different story to the one on the news last night. On that one, this passenger was actually having a flying lesson and he'd flown the plane before, he'd just got no experience of how to land. By tomorrow, he'll be an eight year old who's never even seen a plane before...
Plummet Airlines have just announced they are to begin services from Humberside/Kirmington Airport.....
Mythbusters did an episode to test the theory that a totally inexperienced person could land a large passenger jet, given instructions. They first tried (on a simulator) simply having a go, and were hopeless. They repeated it with someone giving instruction, and landed safely. They suggested to the instructor that it was 'confirmed' that an inexperienced person could land a passenger jet. He said, it was confirmed, but unlikely, because in a real situation, they'd be told to press "this" button which would land it on it's own.
