Just seen this on the EDP website - Cardiff 7/1, Fulham, Wigan 8/1, Derby 9/1, Norwich 10/1, Brighton 14/1 from William Hill. Derby and Wigan I agree with, but we finished higher than both Cardiff and Fulham. How do they arrive at such ludicrous odds????
cardiff have the highly rated (wrongly in my opinion) solskjaer and fulham have magath in charge. we have neil adams. that is why we are lower in the odds
I really don't think Derby will be a contender this year, I just really think they had a huge purple patch. In regards to yourself and the other relegated sides, way to early to judge until the comings and goings start. I would say Cardiff have got the players who could cope with the physical nature of the championship, with you second and Fulham who will struggle. I personally would plump for Wigan, Europe/Coyle screwed them last season, if they can keep their players I can't look anywhere else.
I think there are about 15 or 16 of the 24 clubs that could end up in the play-offs. I expect a really tight league with every one beating every one else on their day, the odds are meaningless really.
The odds merely reflect which way the betting is going rather than any informed analysis of any team's actual chances.
It'll depend on which teams make a good start and then build on the confidence it gives, as 46 games is a long slog.
I think Leicester and Burnley were near the top for most of the time, whereas some of the other teams involved in the playoffs went on a winning streak towards the end of the season!
46 games plus cups makes squad depth far more important. We'll need to rotate the squad more and will probably need to bring in some players before we let any go anyway.
You'd just as well buy a lottery ticket as take a punt on the championship. Wigan will be up there again. The 3 relegated teams are generally in and around. Wait till the transfer window shuts to see who's come and gone and it may give a little more of an idea.
It's looking like Snods will stay, which would be a major coup for Adams. The test will be how many others he persuades to stay.
Theres been very little noise around Leroy too, not exactly having the storming world cup many hoped. He would be incredible in the championship.
Exactly - which is why I can't believe punters are parting with their money at this stage of the season. We'll have a better idea around Xmas time when most teams have played each other.
But having a better idea means that the odds will b much lower, this is just people speculating while the pay out will be high especially if they will only bet on there own team anyway.
