http://www.mirror.co.uk/sport/football/news/leicester-boss-nigel-pearson-wants-3610997 If he gets anywhere near this figure how much is Steve Bruce worth? Go on tell me, Mr Charisma's having a laugh.
Possible quote in response ''Yes Nigel you've done well but asking for £3m a year you are having a giraffe!'' We'll let you run down your contract and say goodbye in 12 months
On second thoughts give him the millions if he promises not to do media interviews. Definitely money well spent.
I hope Pearson gets sacked. But, unfortunately, I think he’s a very good manager at the head of a very able staff - the LCFC board surely realise this. As I’ve reluctantly admitted before, he’s LCFC’s biggest asset and the reason why that team of Championship players have a very good chance of staying up. Unless something really ****s up for him, in the future I could see Pearson getting a chance at and doing well at a club the size of NUFC or West Ham.
From the Mirror with no quotes. I wouldn't let it bother you boys. It doesn't bother me, either. Even if we give Nige a massive contract, I'd say that keeping him for 3m a year will be better than signing someone for 3m every year. I'd say that it's vital that we keep him.
100% agreed. ^^^^^ this. NP is in the top 5 list of managers who will face the sack if they are struggling by November.
What does that even mean? I really don't think that there are many clubs that won't sack their manager if they are struggling in November, in fact, I'd suggest that Nigel would be one of the most secure. Are you suggesting that Bruce will stay if you're in the bottom 3 after another transfer window of investment? I'd bet he doesn't.
Dont be so touchy. Just wait and see. You would think that your owners would guard against the hire and fire culture that now exists in the PL. Look at the 3 relegated clubs from this season as examples.
Touchy? Sorry if it came across that way, I'm just saying that that is the way of football now. No manager has 100% job security. If you're struggling then it's usually the manager that gets the axe.
Hence why you need owners that have complete trust in the manager. Thankfully we do. Well as much as you can have.
NP is a decent manager and Leicester City won't go back down . I think they will finish between 16th and 12th same as we will. His interviews always made me laugh . He pissed off..... BUT it worked out great for both clubs . Roll on the new season I bloody hate cricket n tennis
I actually think he might struggle. It could be down to Steve Walsh and whatever gem he can dig out of nowhere but I do see Nigel struggling to attract that extra bit of class you need in the premier league, specially strikers. I think it will be similar to when we got promoted under Phil Brown where we struggled to get any genuine proven players of a decent age.
But so do we. I think you're assuming the stereotype of 'owner who lives on the other side of the world so he obviously sacks everyone on sight'. He's sacked two managers, Sousa because he took Nigel's side and ripped it apart in a matter of days and Sven because he spent **** loads and still took us back. Nigel, the playing staff, the coaching staff and their families were all invited to spend time with Ayaiwatt and Top's family recently. I don't think that you do that if you don't get along with someone.
