Yes will be interesting if this one comes off. Rumour has it that the Radisson Hotels are being lined up to run it. What with this one and the one being built where Heaven and Hell is, to be run by The Hilton Group, the FA will find it hard to use lack of quality Hotel rooms for the excuse NOT to give us a spot in their next attempt at getting the World Cup or Euros
Does anyone know what went wrong with the Radisson's Park Inn development at the site of the old New York Hotel? http://static.hullcc.gov.uk/hullinprint/archive/november2008/check_out.php I thought the hotel looked fairly ****, but part of the development including restoring the fascia of the Albert Hall in Midland Street(Hull's oldest music hall), which is sadly falling down. please log in to view this image http://www.paul-gibson.com/history/music-halls-of-hull.php
Raddison Blu are indeed (rumoured) to be run the development if a contractor is found, it looks alot like that building in Manchester where half of it begins in mid air does it not? And i've never seen Hulls 'Albert Hall' before if i'm honest. Atleast i don't think i have. I have just looked into the Albert Hall and i pass it everyday please log in to view this image is this the proposal you was talking about?
Is there a lot of call for hotels round here? Fair enough if there is, but recent years have seen that big 'un near Hedon road appear and the one near St Stephens too. I'd love to see some more regeneration, but it's just hotels.
I think they're all just trying to get in whilst the land is cheap and the space is available as companies are seeing Hull as the Green Capital of the UK bringing alot of need for hotels and conference centres. If the Hotels come, the people and the new shops will too. Krispy Kremes opening in St Stephens soon, KFC down Beverley Road and M&S on Kingswood not sure about anywhere else opening up.
Hope so. I know it's a national problem, but the empty shops in town are terribly depressing. I want nothing more than for our City centre to be bustling, and a thriving economy. Hope this has the desired knock on effect.
That's the one, the Albert Hall used to be a nice building, I've seen a photo which I can't seen to find now, but here's a drawing of it in it's heyday... please log in to view this image
Well there is definately going to be a Hilton hotel within Hull, no idea of the site but my father will. It is going in the 3-4 star range of Hilton hotels, and the companies tendering for parts of the job are still yet to hear back so assuming that parts of it are a long way off yet.
There's gonna be an Asda Living at Anlaby Retail Park, pretty crap but will have electricals and clothes etc.
