When did this place close? Went by the other day, it's been secured by VPS or someone.

They got took over a while back, same bloke had been in charge for years, the new cowboys took a load of orders from my place of work, obviously ****ed it all up, and have left it in the ****ter.

I was gonna go there for City on Saturday. Now that's ****ed as well.

    Brilliant.

Go to William Gemmell and watch it with all those lovely Trust types.

When did it get taken over prior to closing?

The bloke who ran it for years is a mate of a mate, ran a tight ship.

Used to be in The Parachute Regiment and made sure there was never any hassle in there.

Agree the 'Archie' sells good beer and has no ****heads in there. And unlike the Albert the toilets don't stink.

Maybe 6-9 months ago. He was a bald fella wasn't he, always used to chat.

Always thought it was a decent enough pub - good beer, sport on a big screen and decent, large portion grub.

Some newbies took it from him less than a year ago, and now it's shut. Clearly amateurs.

Is New Theatre still shut? That will affect its trade if so.

    Yes mate.

    Ian's his name.

Got pissed with him at my mates wedding and he wanted take all his kit off and start a naked bar.

Good lad but you wouldn't want to get on the wrong side of him.

And that's the trouble, the theatre is shut = no-one going there for tea.
Old English Gentlemen could be next.
