Live on TV tonight - really not sure if I want to watch it as I reckon it's going to be painful and embarrassing - and it going to shatter my illusion of what I thought was wonderful humour when I was a youth - anyone on here going to watch?

I love the Four Yorkshiremen sketch, the show will be worth watching for that alone.

90% of it was absolute cack. But the other 10% was comedy gold.

I didn't watch it for that very reason..They were good in their day, but like some of the old pop/rock groups still knocking about, they haven't stood the test of time..

Big fan of their work, not interested in their new stuff though.

New series of Family Guy starts tonight. I will be watching that.

it was OK to watch -good for its reminiscence value -they must have made an absolute shed load of dosh -being shown live all around the world apparently

The more people are told 'it's a classic' the less convincing it sounds.

TBH, they're doing it for cold hard cash and not the love of comedy .......... they've become the object of ridicule they once lampooned.

    It's quite sad to see.

Plus... Maybe we are not all as childish as we used to be marra.
I know we don't want to admit.. But pure stupidity eventually gets old?

Don't get me wrong.. Some bits will always remain 'classic' but most of it is pure sh*te

Went to the cinema to watch it. I thought it was ok, but it was more musical than comedy show.

I watched it and enjoyed a lot of it.

Nice to be able to say "goodbye"

Over the top praise from comics with their opinions.

Never ever been a fan of Monty Python! In fact, if they performed in my back yard I think I would close the curtains!

Comedy has changed too much. I can watch the old Morecambe and Wise, Little and Large, Tommy Cooper, Monty Python and the carry on stuff and they're still funny - but there is a lot of irony lost on the youth of today. My 17 year old nephew literally said "how come they're not swearing" when we watched Morecambe and Wise - sad reality of the times

Monty Python did 2 of the best scenes ever in their movies.

Holy Grail...it's only a flesh wound.

Life of Brain...he's not the messiah...

I'd probably agree with this, they have never appealed to me with their humour. My sense of humour works best with people, face to face and I don't mean stand up comedians, I mean just my friends, and very rarely something will come on the tele that makes me laugh. Not to say it's not funny, it obviously is to most people but to me it just seems a bit ****.

My oldest friend and I have each other crying in hysterics every time we are together, where you start to sweat and get stomach ache. I've never seen that replicated by a television programme.

I'd probably offer them a brew before shutting the blinds though, just out of courtesy.

Ok then......I will try and make you laugh with this.......

'Well if you had the common decency to go out and get yourself a proper job, and not hang around the flat all day like some VAAAAST slug, then perhaps I would have the opportunity to take my top off and wash it with out the risk of you seeing my nipples!!!!'

    Did you laugh???

I smiled, one of my favourite lines from bottom. Me and my mate call each other Vaaarst slugs all the time.

Another one of my favourites is when I pop round with a shirt on for a night out, grab the collar and shout "This is an original Van Der Heusen" and he always replies "It's THEEEE original Van Der Heeyooosen"

    Hahaha
