I didn't think Everton paid that kind of money. Arteta's not a bad player but I'm sure that Everton and Arsenal could have got better for less.
Yeah I'm surprised everyone paid that much. He is good, though not that good. I lose track of what is classed as a lot of money now. I'd have said 20 grand was a lot to pay players but it seems lots are on that amount.
I don't understand the Everton wage but if they wanted to get him off their books they might have sold him for a reduced fee and Arsenal were therefore willing to pay more than they usually do. I think Clint Dempsey is a fantastic player. He'll be worth every penny. I'm not convinced by Eden Hazard - mainly because it's Chelsea buying him. They seem to be suckers for a bigging up campaign.
