Jesus, didnt realise how good he actually was till I just saw this https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=C4e8vDHDcBs
Up there with the best ever, heard his daughter Lisa on RH last week, strange to hear her speak with an America accent.
Basically mick was sensually ****ing the whole audience via the sound waves of his amps. That was her orgasming.
The legato in the first few seconds of the video is stunning. He was amazing. His solo in Moonage Daydream and on Ian Hunters Once Bitten Twice Shy are as good as anything ever put to tape. The thing was Ronno was he was musicians musician. All the arrangements and strings on Ziggy era Bowie's albums and also on Lou Reeds Transformer album where Mick. He always played for the song and not for himself. Whether that be a some blistering solo or a few notes just to embellish what the bands doing. Even that mad jam was born out the fact it allowed Bowie to change costume.
Lets start a not606 statue not stage campain http://www.hulldailymail.co.uk/Angu...Spiders-Mars/story-19282999-detail/story.html OLM your good on that social media stuff, hashtag it or whatever you do #statuenotstage
The best thing to come out of 'ull ever...FACT When Bowie first saw him play he said..."Here is my Jeff Beck"....Personally, I don't think that Jeff Beck is in the same league! Ziggy era Bowie made me fall in love with Rock music and Mick Ronson is a major part of that. He also produced Lou Reed's Transformer, which by Reed's own admission, Mick played a massive part in. RIP MICK you Guitar Legend...you died too young but you left a great legacy through your music. It is shameful that there isn't a statue for him in his home City IMO. Just a big up to Steve Bruce, he is always gracious in defeat and acknowledges the other team's play. Good man and good Manager...
Don't worry, you aren't the only one who thinks that. In fact you're very likely in a majority. There should be a set of statues of everyone in The Spiders From Mars (In particular Ronson and Bolder), considering they are all from the area bar Bowie. Well IMO they should.
Mick Ronson is a Legend. This City should commemorate him in the best way possible. That poxy stage they put up in his name was an insult. I really ****ing hope the new one will be better.
The proposed new concert venue in town could be named The Ronson Arena with a suitable statue of the man in the vicinity. Or maybe statues are a bit old fashioned now. A hologram or something then.
