Despite what he says I think he will end up in the Championship, money talks. Can't see him doing a pay per play deal given his record.

owen and fowler (who i reckon was better) should both have been greater than they were. pity for both they didn't seem to do well together. both didn't fulfill their potential, not by miles.

Robbie Fowler had bad injuries throughout his career.

Whereas Owen had a completely injury free career. Bending your leg 180 degrees completely the wrong way shouldn't be used as an excuse ffs.

Robbie fowler was one of the best strikers this country has ever had. He could and should have gone on to greater things

180 degrees?! My point was Fowler had injuries throughout his career. Owen had one serious injury. Owen could, if he wanted to play in the premier league. The fact is Owen has chosen to sit on the bench for the last few years and waste his best years.

The situation at Liverpool at the moment is laughable in the extreme. Already short of goals they let Andy Carroll go to West Ham on loan with a January recall clause. <doh> By that time Liverpool could be in a massive relegation scrap. <yikes>

Its now reported that Liverpool may go in after fat Emile Heskey ? No chance. Another report has Rodgers wanting Drogba ? No chance. IF Drogba leaves China he will move next door to Russia. So that leaves Owen and a return to Liverpool. <eek> Sadly that wont happen either. <nahnah>

Owen is now reported to be injured again. He got his fingers trapped when the transfer window slammed shut last friday. <whistle>

Indeed. John. Ok, Gerrard and Suarez will score the odd goal or 2 to get a win or 2 but they are going to struggle. Teams will just set up to frustrate there tippy tappy football. I really do think Liverpool will struggle until January at least. Maybe Harry will get a call soon ? :emoticon-0100-smile

I think you are right they will struggle, but I think they have to stick with Rogers now, after Hodgson/Dalglish to change again, even though Harry would do a good job, I cannot see it happening.

No Harry was a tongue in cheek comment. I agree they have to stick with Rodgers now.

As for having a smile on his face, Steve Clarke (Kennys No.2) should have one as wide as the Mersey now as well. Lol.

I must say he has surprised me, WBA have had a great start to the season. He really comes across as such a dour Scot, that I thought going into management rather than coaching, would not be his forte, but so far he has proved me wrong.

To be fair John the SpeciaL One rates Clarke as well as Kenny does. I wish him well and hope WBA finish above Liverpool. It will be a massive kick in the kop end if they do.

Kenny Dalglish has well and truly F**ked Liverpool up big time, and has left a lasting legacy that could, and probably will cause damage that will take over 5 years to repair. The squad that Rogers has been left with and the wages that they must be on are mind boggling. in Carrol, Henderson and Downing alone they have £75M worth of assets which would have a resale value of surely no more than around £30M, and re sale values will continue to plummet as they are not being played. I think that their only saleable assets at the moment player wise who would invite bids that were higher than the price paid would be for Suarez, Skrtel and Agger, all of whom would require significant investment to replace. With no stadium move imminent and Champions League about as realisitc as it is for us, Liverpool have got not financial rainbow on the horizon. The owners have made it clear that thye are not prepared to blow money, following King Kenny's shocker last year, they are a club in serious serious trouble.

The fact they are being linked with players like Owen and Heskey who are in my view championship players really highlights this significance, they have to stick with Rogers, otherwise it'll be a revolving door of managers coming in with no great money to spend, no continuity and impending doom, personally I hope they sack Rogers and go down this path.....

As a final point, i've seen rumours that the loan deal for Nuri Sahin from Madrid Liverpool paid 5 (yes FIVE) million quid for a one year loan, full wages paid and no agreed future fee either which is why they couldn't afford 7M for Dempsey, if this is true then someone at liverpool needs shooting as they have had their addidas popper trackie bottoms and their pants pulled down big time by Madrid on this deal

Sahin is also on £115k a year which Liverpool are paying in full.

Yet the owners make a statement saying they wont sanction short term expensive investments for players who will only contribute for a couple of seasons?

Plus, 100% of Swansea fans credit Roberto Martinez for shaping the way they played coming up from the Championship and last season.

It was Martinez who introdcued the style of play right from the early youth stages (much like Barmby said he wanted to do) and the players that Rodgers got to work with were ones that had been brought up on that style of play, not groomed into it by Rodgers.

Liverpool made a massive mistake in not getting Martinez in and, despite Wigan being an unfashionable club, the Martinez ethos is clear to see and it's no wonder Dave Whelan was so desperate to hang on to him.

Martinez obviously saw what he was in for and has got his eyes on a bigger and better stage when his time at the DW comes to an end.

I'm not sure why he 'd be laughing.

He caused a lot of it, ****ing eeeeedjit that he is.

I know £30 million has been mentioned as resell value for the three stooges but I think that's been very generous.

    My honest evaluations are as such;

    Carroll- £12 million.
    Downing-£5 million.
    Henderson-£4 million.

I wouldn't pay more than that for any of 'em. I actually think Henderson is worth less, he 's bobbins.

Whoever sanctioned £75 million for those three drongo's must have been pissed or on heroin, bit like Zammo.

Keep an eye on Ian Ayre. He is the one above Rodgers and reports direct to the John Henry and his boys. Ian Ayre could well be the scapegoat at some point.

Without a doubt. 100% agreed ^^^ this. I think that Roberto Martinex maybe the next in line for Man Utd once SAF retires. I would be be very surprised if RM has not been mentioned by the Man Utd board at least. After Jose and Pep,, Roberto must be in with a shout. imo

Daniel Camolli was in charge of those deals from memory. He did not last long afterwards though at Liverpool.
