It seems that every drop of British blood spilt has predictably been in vain.

What a mess. I'd get Blair in front of a war tribunal.

Labour voters of Hull, hang your heads in shame.

Okay. Delete away. We can have sexist tit competitions (yawn) but current affairs is a none starter. Great rule admin!

No religion, no politics, they're the only rules we have on here.

We basically just have anything goes apart from politics and religion. Current affairs is fine but if it strays into politics (the two obviously are very close) then it gets closed.

And there's no sexism, if anyone wants to do a knob comparison thread that's fine too!

On Iraq/afghan, the whole thing was always going to be in vain. The Taliban are just biding their time and swelling their numbers, the minute we pull out they will just dive straight back in. All in all a pointless exercise.

Perversely the best way for peace in the region may well be scrapping this new model and allow the region to revert to authoritarian states .
It's not great for the people but it allows stability.
For the most part these authoritarian / dictatorships have led a quiet existence up until the US and EUROPE try to force democracy on the sates.

Of course democracy is the better option but the price is too heavy and the west do not have the staying power nor the stomach to make it happen .

One. Of the worst country's for human rights is Saudi Arabia , oddly the west have no interest in changing that regime - it's behaving as a very obedient puppet !

we're not allowed to say it under good old British political correctness but it seems there's this religion which originated in the middle east which manages to spread trouble around the world. I don't need to tell you its name
