Saw his finale in the Heineken Cup Final and what a performance, surely one of the all-time greats...

Met him once at the tennis in Wimbledon, seemed a really nice bloke as well.

Went to school with him, and he was. And almost painfully shy.

Apparently there were 80,000 French rugby supporters singing "God Save the Queen" at the Stade de France in his honour after Toulon won their final yesterday.

He has had a magnificent career, and as you say Soops, one of the all-time greats.

A great player, way more than the best ever kicker. His strength and determination in the tackle was awesome.

As captain at Toulon he gave all the team talks in French. I like that. I'm sure Gareth Bale will do the same in Spanish when he's made captain of Real Madrid.

Not really a big Rugby fan expect of course when Ireland are playing, but Wilkinson is a class act.
