I appreciate Stairway more now than I did back then same as Pink Floyd Another Brick In The Wall, but I thought it was cute that Jimmy was playing a good old fashioned LP not a digital replica.

It's much more than cute ref. Vinyl is the easily the best way to listen to music. As John Lee Hooker put it...CD ? Don't got no balls <ok>

    I agree.

I have my dad's old vinyl player and he got me loads of his records as well as buying a few more, and it is so much better than my docking station or CD player.

No one bothered about Page's propensity for young girls?

I'm afraid my hearing is not so acute these days Kemps but what you say I have heard before (no pun intended :) honest) and most of my listening these days is in the MP3 format, I know terrible isn't it?

Should of gone to see them at Knebworth 1979. Me and my older brother got the tickets in advance, but when it came to the weekend to go, i just couldn't afford the travel and drinking. Sold the ticket to a mate of my brother. Regret that now.

Maybe I'm Satan incarnate, but I really value the modern day 'remaster'.

Everything is crystal clear, breathes new life into old recordings.

Get yourself a top notch pair of headphones and immerse yourself in music.

Other than the fact I'd rather stick hot pokers in my ears than listen to any 70s rock bands especially zeppelin or Floyd I agree with Party. There's nothing magical or better about vinyl. Live is best followed by crystal clear sound through quality headphones.

I've never got in Zep for some reason.

Kashmir does have great riff though.

I recently bought a new cartridge for my record-player........

Vinyl is the best, sound-wise, because digital (CD) music is compressed. MP3s are even more compressed than CDs.

...you're missing a lot imo - live concert - are they not riddled with imperfections, which add to the experience..."hisses" & "pops" on vinyl add to the recalled memories. Music is all about memories...

The imperfections in a live performance are real. The ones on vinyl are a result of the medium. Like scratching a finished painting or photo.

Floyd were a rock band? Crystal clear sound which isn't an accurate representation of what was intended and completely lacking in warmth. Happy is as clueless as ever.
