Did make me laugh http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport1/hi/football/16146536.stm Not sure why his bio of 'Official twitter page of Sir Chris Hoy, 4 x Olympic Champ track cyclist' and the picture of him cycling in the Olympics didn't give it away that they had the wrong person
chutneymutt chutneymutt #Chris Hoy, not only are you a useless **** of a referee, you also support Stoke.
Liking his responses to it all 'Still getting some rather amusing grief from Spurs fans! On the plus side I've learned some new 4 letter words today. #FoyNotHoy'
maybe Sir Chris Hoy would have done a much better job than Chris Foy did. alas Foy is not the only barn pot ref. in the PL. mark clattenburgs performance last night in the chelsea man city game was not much better either.
Clattenburg had a good game last night. Wouldn't blame him for the penalty. I saw the replay from two angles. From the ref's side it looks like a dive and from the side it looks a cast-iron penalty.
I didn't think he did a bad job last night either, though I can't believe Yaya Toure got through that game without picking up a card.
Thought he handled the Toure situation well. If Toure had got booked or sent off because Mata can't take a friendly tap then what the hell is the game coming to?
Not much of a kick, I grant you, but kicking a player on the deck was still a stupid thing to do and it would normally have got him a card.
Let me just check, the ref gave a penalty when the view from his position made it look like a dive, but you're using the other angle to say that it's not that bad because from the angle the referee couldn't see it from it did look a penalty?
I'm talking about the penalty City should've had for the foul on Silva. The Chelsea pen was handball and was also cast-iron.
Depends if he confirred with his linesman first, as a rule the ref will always give the penalty despite the lineman having a signal to give it if he chooses (wave flag in the air then place it over the chest) unless it's right at the side of the box in front of the linesman. Since they're all wired up to each other and constantly talking it could be that the linesman said to the ref that it was a penalty and foy took his word for it despite not seeing obvious contact himself. EDIT: Ignore this, i wrote it in reference to the Modric pen
Foreign player kicks someone gently and it's a gentle kick, end of. Rooney kicks someone gently and it's vicious, it's his temper, it's the awful English at it again. And he can't keep it in his pants either.
rubbish. clattenburg was crap. he was right up on play when silva got done and the 2nd booking on clichey was weak. a final warning would have been enough for that challenge. the penalty decision for man city would have changed the game and i dont see chelsea coming back from 2-0 down. ive no issues with the chelsea penalty by the way. he had to get something right.
If you think the Rooney kick compares at all to the Toure kick, you haven't seen either. What a load of insular bollocks. The Clichy booking was well deserved. There wasn't a complaint from a Man City player, coach or fan. It was a ludicrous challenge to make. Watch the reply of the pen from Clattenburg's angle. The contact is very hard to make out.
it was a clear penalty, not often i agree with rat face neville, but he paused the replay and showed the ref couldnt have had a better position, he was about 5 yards away with nobody in his way, bottled the decision for the away team... and as somebody who has over £500 riding on man city winning the league i wasnt impressed ..
