Ian McMillan that irritating forced on poet from 'Barnsley grates on me more than any other twatter on the tellybox. His ridiculous accent , his **** poetry , his Boycott-esque demeanour make me want to vomit into his mouth . is there anyone worse ??? Saville can't really count for me as he didnt try to finger my muddy puddin but i feel that McMillan is abusing me every time i hear him .

Did you have Bbc news on when you wrote this as he was on? I had the sound off. I guess he made living from it but it is a bit thick his accent.
john shuttleworth & McMillan have wit, humour, intelligence & a sense of irony...bit lost on some of you lot alas
Can't see your problem with this guy - my father came from the Barnsley area and I've always kinda had a soft touch for this part of the world. That said he is a wessie and does not represent 'my' part of Yorkshire - we are as different as chalk and cheese in this respect.
Should Eric Pickles have his MP's salary witheld until/unless he takes exercise and gets his weight down (as this 'Coalition' proposes for the unemployed?) ....the fat ****!
I was in a restaurant in Hornchurch once and he was in with (I presume) Mrs.Pickles. In just over 2 hours, he never even got up to go to the loo during his five courses. I think the idea of getting any exercise is well off the agenda! He thinks of himself as an 'Essex man' these days anyway. (But I agree with the sentiment Stan). BTW Ian McMillan is a really lovely and genuine fellow. He can turn on the 'Professional Yorkshireman schtick' when the contract requires it: a la Parkinson, Boycott and all the rest!
I have to say he doesn't come across all the badly as far as I am concerned. Who grates on me more is Colin (Neil Warnock), I want to smash the telly every time I see and hear him.
As regards the Essex restaurant - par for the course (x5!); and glad to hear that about Ian McMillan!
i'd forgotten about Scargill - i suppose if i had t'internet in't 80s he would be up there . I've never been to Barnsley and if that how they all talk in general conversation it would make me quite mad :/
