A while ago I was advised by posters on here that The Welly / The Wellington Social Club was a good indie bar in Hull.... is this place still going ? cant seem to find it on t'internet.... if so is it anywhere near Posterngate ? also....are there any other indie clubs near there ?

...all prep for a piss up round Hull for my 40th after the Bristol game

Thurs night is the indie one, although Saturdays are pretty similar.

Here's a link to the welly club site.

Saturday nights aren't what they used to be back in the days of Yo-Yo, but it still beats the squares clubs. I can find the crowd a bit young sometimes too.

Linnet will always play some decent indie tunes and Lamp might be worth checking out, depending on what club night they have on.

ive only ever been in on a friday, due to the music, ive never tried another night, but might do soon as the choice of music in town is going rapidly downhill..where as there used to be a decent cross section of genres, these days your treated to the hits of rhianna and beyonce pretty much all night ..

Piper on a Friday is literally dedicated to indie music. A little steep to get in. £5 after 10pm with no drinks on offer, however I think it's worth it purely for the music.
