    The Odds.

Positioned on the post punk, burgeoning mod/ska, pre New Romantic tip.

After The Odds, lead singer Kieran formed Moscow, then after they split up, he formed Series Two, who's guitarist was me.

And Stuart left The Odds to form the band Pride in London with Hull lads Paul Denman(who's posted on here as Vicious Tiger) and Paul Cook, which then became Sade.

Series Two aren't on my list at present. I'll add them in.

The website is on track to go live sometime towards the end of this month (all being well).

We never actually did a gig, there was a bit of interest in Moscow from record companies, so we worked on three songs(in the old rehearsal rooms down near Humber Street) and then recorded them at Cargo studios in Rochdale in the early 80's.

What were those rehearsal rooms called? We have section for recording/rehearsal studios as well though it's a bit sparse at the moment as it's not been worked on much as yet.

I've no idea what they were called, they were actually on Queens Street(an old building down the back of an alley) and they were behind the cafe(all now demolished).

I'll drop Kieran a line and see if he can remember.

Edit: My memory is failing me, we were Called Session Two, not Series Two. <doh>

Moscow released a record in about 1980, from memory the A side was Gabrielle and the B side was Some Of You Might Say, it did well locally(back in the day, when Syd Scarborough's had a local chart on the wall).

They're playing again now, as Moscow For Pleasure, they played the Welly not long back.

He is indeed, I bought my first amp off him(a Vox AC30), there's some old and new clips of them on here...

Jez, the drummer, was also in Session Two.

    I'll check them out later.

Funnily enough Mr Leafe interviewed me for a web design position some years ago, for which I was unsuccessful (no problem, them's the breaks), and here I am about to put him on a website. Well, I say "about to"... there's a few hundred other artists to consider as well.

The studio was behind Carlo Prati's (Carlo's) cafe; had a horrible sticky carpet. Red Guitars rehearsed there, back in the day.

(We used to get A&R men from the record companies to visit us down there, so they could treat the penniless musicians to lunch in Habitat's cafe)

I can remember booking it for the RG's, but who from/what it was called, I no longer remember......

I've still got a copy of our band photo, which was taken outside that very cafe.

The other lads can't remember what the place was called, but apparently, it was one of the Red Guitars that actually owned the building, it's him we used to hire it from.
