There is a statistic that says that there are more people living on Earth today than throughout the whole of history. Now this introduces an interesting question on the subject of reincarnation. Like : 'With the rising population on Earth, where the hell do all the new spirits come from?' Think about it. This suggests that, in the afterlife, spirits must be bonking like hell to supply the demand for new spirits in modern China. Iâm kinda looking forward to this death thing now. It sounds a pretty fun place to be!
Seriously then, it's not so much as what I personally feel about death, it's more what I feel about life. I guess we are lucky if we get to survive for eighty years. As individuals we are fairly weak, as a species reproduction makes us strong. Enjoy yourself as much as you can, death is inevitable and there ain't no coming back from it for me. Once you are dead, that's it....imo of course.
I walked into a psychology lecture at Uni when I was 20 to a message on the board saying "Life is a sexually transmitted disease that is 100% fatal" Never a truer word spoken in jest!!
I've got a deal with Allah that if I convert before I kick the bucket, he'll sort me out with a load of virgins who I'll then see about trading for one filthy, jug fest of a slag and an unlimited supply of Tangy Toms.
That's the spirit, Terry. Just keep the little ones coming - no spiritual contraceptives. We need to meet the demand.
Death? Not in favour of it on the whole. I'm hoping the reaper keeps away until the lads win another trophy. Gives me another 75 years at this rate, I reckon...
Of course it is .... 'believing in the afterlife' is just what some people use as an excuse to actually doing things in this one.
Make the most of your time on Earth, the only thing that happens after your death is the legacy of what you have done. I have done **** all to aid humanity in my life. (Nearly signed up for VSO in my twenties, then thought **** it I'm enjoying drinking and shagging and football too much.) I leave behind some canny building work that I'm proud of. And three kids who I couldn't be more proud of, all well balanced and productive open minded members of society. I don't believe in God so I'm not scared of dying. Believers must go through torturous mind ****ing as they pass on, imagining some minor indiscretion in their life putting them straight to hell. Where as I can just float away to nothingness, knowing I have enjoyed every minute of my life. I do believe nature has a habit of sorting out imbalances. The over population of Earth is just such an imbalance, we are living longer and curing diseases that would have decimated us in previous generations. I have a feeling there is a really bad AIDS due.
And unless the Russians have a brainfart, the big bombs won't be heading the Wests way. And I can't see the Chinese wanting Islam spreading far and wide in their country.
Nice thought mate but it doesn't. We're killing off a species of critter every week and replacing it with wind turbines and oil exploration rigs. The job's ****ed mate, zero progress is being made in any human field ........... it's a ****ing irrecoverable disgrace. As you say let's just be selfish and do whatever we like without any guilt, the whole thing is totally pointless.
