Not a moan about the HDM but I was wondering if anyone could help me out? I'm collecting some research and I need to know; 1. how much does it cost to get an advert in the HDM? 2. How many copies are sold daily/weekly etc. Any help is appreciated.
They sell about 46,000 copies a day/280,000 copies week(audited figure to April 2012), it's actually Yorkshire's biggest selling paper. There's a section on the website 'Book an Ad', make something up and see what it comes to. Is your Google not working?
Rate cards are never easy to get. Today I paid £370 for two quarter page inserts in a supplement. But I was quoted between 400 and 1250 for a single insert in the main body of the paper. This is a paper in the same group. Ask them what spaces they have left to fill, you may find that they have a full width strip left on the bottom of a page that they will discount. The rate for inclusion in the web site is around. 200 per 20,000 viewable pages on the header bar. All rates are net of vat. They will do your artwork for free if you ask them.
Be careful not to confuse readership figures, which the largely make up and are pleased to publish, and sales figure, which they cannot make up and are usually reluctant to share honestly as they are 'bad' news
