Just seen on the Daily Fail website - BBC are likely to give the Match of the Day show a much-needed shake-up after the departure of Hansen, who has been the main analyst on the programme for so long - he's been on there for 20 years!!! Phil Neville has turned down an offer from teh Beeb. http://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/ar...pected-leave-Match-Day-BBC.html#ixzz2Tg2grTnC
As long as it doesn't mean seeing more of messrs Claridge and Savage. How about getting rid of shearer too?
I have to say, Hansen was one of the few I had any time for, his analysis was always subjective and lacking in bias!
Don't mind Claridge actually and Rosenior is a fairly decent presenter.I might be biased but my first preference is for Dion Dublin.Agree with Dave that Hansen was the best of a mediocre bunch.Actually mediocre is high praise for Lawro.
Always had time for Hansen's comments - can't say the same for Lawro/Shearer and hope that their days are numbered. Looking forward to the BT coverage and just happen to have BT Broadband as my ISP though knowing my luck, we'll have few of our games covered by BT. At least we'll have an NCFC fan as the main presenter
agree that Hansen was the best of a really bad bunch, though his comments tended to concentrate on the defensive aspect of the game, at least he tried to be honest and fair. why are BBC football programmes run by such sour faced morons. their Cricket teams were always bright, clever and interesting, same for the Snooker etc. it is just the footy where they let the idiots loose.
As long as you don't take anything he says seriously, Lawro can be a huge source of entertainment. In fact, with his miserable bloodhound looks and world-weary manner I've become quite attached to him. I suggest we "adopt" him as a sort of mascot and have a "Lawro minute" at every match, where we hold up Lawro masks and guffaw with laughter for 60 seconds (he wore No.6 in his playing days didn't he, so the sixth minute of the game would be appropriate). This might also unsettle the opposition; imagine 27,000 Lawros laughing at you just when you are getting into some sort of rythm.
Yes that's a good observation.I used to listen to cricket despite not being much interested in the game.Arlott was superb as was Jonners.
Good, perhaps he can reinburse the licence fee payer for the tremendously **** job his done for well over a decade.
Should be like HIGNFY with guest presenter each week and maybe they should have an ex player from the tradition of each club working on a rotation so we never get the same old cliche twaddle each week
