I know there are a few runners on this board, so was wondering whether anyone is doing the Sheffield 10k this Sunday?

If anyone has done it before, what is the course like - is it hilly/congested?

    Cheers

I'm not but I ran 11.3k in 47.50 mins last night.

Bit of a random distance I know, but it's my circular around Vicky Dock & marina.

Very impressive time Party. Where I live it's hilly as, so I struggle to do any decent times

But I'm convinced runkeeper has added it up wrong.

Seems a bit fast for me.

    I'm the opposite - I'm sure I'm faster than Endomondo says <whistle>

In case anyone is interested, the Sheffield 10k is hilly. The first 1.5k is a bit up and down, and the last 1k is pretty much all uphill.

The 3rd to 7th kilometers were in blistering heat yesterday and coupled with my lack of training meant that I was a broken man at the end. Still, I managed to outsprint some fat lass to the finish line. I also beat some bloke in a full Darth Vader suit - the force wasn't that strong with him.

Party, you would have hated it. Coming up to the finish line it was like an Alex Bruce convention - people puking all over the place. One bloke appeared to be losing every bit of bodily fluid out of his mouth and nose and some twat nearly puked on my eldest lad's feet.

For the record, I managed to keep all of my stomach contents in place.

What was your training regime in the build up to this?

Thank god Hull is flat. I don't do hills.

My training regime was poor to be honest.

The run snuck up on my whilst I wasn't looking so I only had 4 weeks training, which wasn't enough.

    Monday - swim
    Tuesday - run
    Wednesday -rest
    Thursday - run
    Friday - rest
    Saturday - kettle bells
    Sunday run

Well, that's what I should have done - it didn't quite pan out like that though.

Where I live is very hilly so I should have done better than I did yesterday as all my training has been on hills
