does anyone know about this hotel? Looking for somewhere to stay after the Swansea game in a couple of weeks. The place we normally stay is fully booked so looking for somewhere else, preferably central. This one came up on a search, but I am not familiar with it.
I don't know whether this one is any good for you? http://www.campanile.com/en/hotels/...CFQrpwgodcHwAvQ&AspxAutoDetectCookieSupport=1

When we book "name" acts to play at the Hull Folk Festival we often put them up at the Premier Inn, near Myton Bridge. Good value, with superb views across the city and the river.
The Gilson was taken over by another chain about a year ago. It has had some work done but is still pretty basic. Its in a good position for the City Centre and I have stayed a couple of times since it was taken over an just a room basis. Not the best of hotels but you get what you pay for. Ibis is probably a better bet or go to the Holiday Inn Express.
Their website is either out of date or making a prediction. We are situated within a twenty minute walk of the home of Super League club Hull FC and of Championship side Hull City AFC at the KC Stadium.
The Gilson's a dump pal, but hotels are a little sparse in our city centre, something I hope will improve in the next few years. I have a friend who was arranging secret rendezvous with a married woman in the Gilson (I don't condone it, though I was entertained by it), and he said it was like hell on earth. Fun stuff.
When we stay over we usually stay at one of the Holiday Inns (Marina is better) or the Premier Inn round by The Deep.
thanks for input so far. The Gilson sounds like a place to avoid so I'm glad I asked. we've stayed at the Marina Holiday Inn before which was OK. It's been a while though.
No, neither was trying to impress the other, it was a case of anywhere would do. Literally anywhere. It was actually comical. I found it immensely entertaining to hear about it, but it was disturbing at times. A case of two like-minds meeting, secretly...and one of them being a boasting blabber mouth. One* was amused. *Me
