We already have the teachers disputes with things soon to move to a national level in the next month or so.

Now the Government is on collision course with the Doctors, Nurses & other NHS workers by demanding that their agreed 1% pay rise be re negotiated to allow for changes to their terms & conditions, despite them already having seen these attacked & reduced over the last 3 years & unlike the teachers, having seen a reduction in real terms by both Conservative & Labour governments of more than 30% over the last 7 years.

I predict this will lead to more industrial action & possibly this time including doctors & nurses in a sector where staffing numbers are already below those needed to provide the most basic service. Is this in the hope that the entire system will collapse & allow the wholesale privatisation of & ultimate end of the NHS ??

I do believe it's the turn of the MPs themselves. And the Lords (attendance allowance cuts).

I work in the NHS and recently had to interview for my own job as a re-grading exercise. You know what I dare not say more than that. Our message board at work used to be full of people airing their views and having a go at management. Since the "we know who you are" email which was leaked to the press everyone is just scared for their jobs and glad they have one.

I've been at a few places where people get re-interviewed for their own jobs. The first time was in the 80s (change of owner). It's nowt new and not uncommon.

There are all sorts of ruses to winkle out people who are 'surplus' or whose face doesn't fit.

One I hear about a lot these days is people 'leaving the company with immediate effect' and getting a big payout on the proviso that they do not utter one word of the circumstances surrounding their departure. Failure to to keep schtumm, they have to pay it all back. Many of these folk are the 'outspoken' ones who are seen as rabble rousers.

Those who do not strike, for whatever motivation, would have my respect if:

They refused all concessions won by industrial action and unions.

    Would they? Would they ****.

They also quote the 'responses' from staff surveys, that are voluntary but managers demand are completed, they are not confidential so as Jukeskaren says above who dare state their real opinions.

It wasn't the ****ing Tory scum who created the mess.

Direct your anger at the previous government who screwed up our economy.

That's why they got voted out.

I'll direct my anger at who I like, thanks. Currently it's aimed at those who would renege on a derisory 1% pay increase for some of the hardest working and most valued members of our society. In the past it's been aimed at New Labour chancers. I'm nothing if not fair in my hatred.

Christmas is about celebrating the birth of Santa and Easter is about celebrating the spring, renewal of crops etc, and ofc the birth of the Bunny who brings us chocolate.

Christianity IS rubbish, as are all religions.

To the doctors, nurses and important medical staff, I give my full support. To the legions of clericals and others who are ten a penny in the labour market, I suggest they should get back to the real world. Of course if they dont like it, they can always leave and get a much much better job as the rest of us have to if pay becomes a problems. Far too many unskilled workers with a chip on their shoulders in the NHS for my liking, and have spent the best part of two years back and forth from a number of 'Ossys, I ve met quite a few.

What part of 'no politics' are people having trouble understanding?
