Inspired by comments by Happy Clapper on the thread re the Allams meeting.. that one being more serious, here's where you can say what was the first CD you bought?

For me: Single - Ordinary World by Duran Duran & Album - Greatest Hits by The Jam both in 1991

Rememeber the sales guy giving the Sony System & Wharfdale speakers which I bought a demo in Hull (elec store near where the Deep is now..) & me thinking.. **** this is amazing sound!! Before that was cassettes.. :afro:

    Never heard of vinyl?

I have absolutely no idea when I switched to CD. I've a feeling it was a little later than 1991.

Obviously I was born pretty late into the game, but the first one I bought was Hot Fuss by The Killers.

I have no idea what the first single I bought was. I know the first single I owned (not bought) was You Get What You Give by New Radicals (My dad gave me it when I was 6 or 7, cant remember when).

He did specify CD, though - you're veering off topic.

@tigercity: My comment about vinyl was in reference to the "Before that was cassettes" claim.
