As I've mentioned before on here I'm a massive lover of libraries. I've loved them since i was a kid, especially Greenwood Library but all the others too. With the latest cut backs, they are under threat. As are the housebound service.

I dont want it to get political but how can a service that we've paid for for the last god knows how many years be suddenly under threat???

Opening times have been slashed already, their latest wheeze is to have libraries run by volunteers. Which i think is disgusting. Please fill in the survey and click no to it been run by volunteers.

    Thank you all.

All these cuts still to come that the Tories have delayed not for economic reasons but just to get past the next general election.

Are you local? This is a local forum, for local people, there's nothing for you here. We don't bother the outside world, we don't want it bothering us.

I filled it out as an ex-pat, Ben - but it wouldn't accept my postcode. Think it requires an HU one.

I hope you are referring to the Hull Library issue, there are many on here who no longer or even ever did live in Hull, for example I left 30 years ago, but that does not stop us following city.

Done - but what a 5H1T poll! It won't accept a postcode (I used my old one and then a mate's current one. It only accepted it by leaving it blank. FFS!)

OK! I changed my life 30 years ago when I left, because I'd been made redundant 4 times in 5 years! Lived in the Midlands mostly, six months ago changed my life again following marital split, sold up, now I live in France. Similar issues here, local services being cut because of reductions in national subsidy. I live in a village of 1300 people, no public transport and the library is open 1.5 hours on a Tuesday and Friday! Without wanting to be political all of western Europe is in the same situation, the UK is doing relatively well with unemployment falling towards "only" 7%, its 11% here.
