http://www1.skysports.com/football/...from-making-transfers-in-the-next-two-windows Barcelona have been banned from transferring players in the next two transfer windows by FIFA. The decision has been made after the club was deemed to have breached rules relating to the "international transfer of minors", according to a statement from the game's governing body. More to follow. Could seriously change football in the future this Nice to see they haven't just been handed a minor fine being a large club Glad to see it like as I hate Barca as well as how their players go on
Have to say, I'm stunned to see this handed out to UEFA's baby, but it's fully and richly deserved. Must add, this doesn't even touch the ongoing investigations into the transfers of Neymar & David Villa, which could have a much more serious punishment attached. They'll get the ban reduced on appeal of course, cos they are Barcelona, there's a precedent with Chelsea who were banned for a while but then had it reduced, although it seems Barca's flouting of the rules has been a lot more widespread, over a great period of time, as opposed to Chelsea's being solely related to the Gael Kakuta transfer.
Interesting too that the Spanish FA have been fined, almost vindication of the long held view that Barca are favored over Madrid, commonly held view in Spain.
That will do us a world of good, Moyes can forget about Fabregas and completely focus on Kroos! I can't help but think there's a cheque in the post for Sepp though that will see this all disappear.
You must have been happy last night mate, thought you lot were fantastic in the face of it. Bayern started well, and they did some nice things, but they lost heart, Vidic was superb all night. Made it possible, and that's as good as it gets v Bayern at the minute.
The details haven't been released yet mate, but the transfer is being investigated re illegal payments to agents etc, very similar to the Neymar case, but as it was a transfer within Europe, consequences could be far greater.
Yeah I was happy with the performance mate, I envisaged the worst when I saw Rio's name on the team sheet but they've obviously still got a chemistry between the pair of them. We defended well first half and kept the door shut, unlucky to have Welbz goal chalked off. 2nd half Shinji was all over them, they didn't know what to do with him and you can see why he was so good in Bundesliga after that showing from him. Shame about Fellaini not tracking Schweinsteiger back for their goal but he did ok breaking up their attacks on the whole, which I think was all he was asked to do. Nemanja was an absolute beast mate, might not be as nimble as he once was but his reading of the game is immense. Pride has been few and far between at Old Trafford this season, was good to see us stand up and refuse to be humiliated by the Bayern Juggernaut.
He was flawless mate, he literally stood up to everything, he's been some biy that man, he'll be playing in his slippers in Italy, even now. Thought Fellaini was very good, worked like a trojan, even the couple times he gave it away my feeling was that the balls to him had been sold short, or badly chosen. Gotta say, I think Alaba is an incredible player, such a ****ing athlete, love watching him, but he got a tough time last night. Is there any chance of RVP being back for return leg?
I doubt it mate, I don't think I want him back either as we've just started playing good stuff since he got injured and the squad is picking up a bit of confidence. I won't complain if he starts but I think Welbeck certainly earned his place last night despite his fluff one on one. Another player worth a mention for us was Phil Jones, some of his tackles were vintage mate I thought he handled it brilliantly. I've just got a niggling feeling in my mind that Fergie picked that side, or had something to do with that team last night, don't know why I just think it had a Fergie feel to it.
Is this really "coming down hard" on Barca? Will they care? Oh no, another season with only the likes of Messi, Iniesta, Neymar, Xavi, Pique, etc. to choose from. However will they cope?
Mate, it would be no bad thing is Moyes was sharp enough to lean on Fergie. In any walk of life, you should always be learning.
Bayern will be using all the tricks in the book in the 2nd leg, as will Barca. As much as I respect them for their dominant style of football, when their backs are against the wall it's King diver Robben and his pet mongrel diver Ribery to the rescue every time, I was more than happy to see them get a bit of their own medicine last night. If Moyes prepares the team for the same as last night but with a load of added cheating in, we might take it to penalties (then lose obviously). Barca will be turning up in swimming trunks at the Calderon.
Sad, but have to agree. Mind, Ribery man, the way he carries the ball it's just unreal, he's so effortless man. Kroos was a bit quiet, maybe taking in his new home?
Haha I hope so yeah! Ribery is a guy I really hate, I was convinced United would have won that CL 4 years ago and not Inter, but he cheated his way through that game that Bayern were getting slapped around Old Trafford, until we were down to 10, then they started jumping on Rooney's ankle. For those reasons I cannot compliment him on anything, the dirty *****. Back on topic, I really hope Barca get the same justice that a Chelsea or a Juve would get from Fifa, they've broken the rules and they need to be punished. They are one of the 4 biggest clubs in the world so they have to be made an example of to set the standards for World football, with that in mind I'd suggest forcing them to sell Messi to United for ten quid on a 10 year contract.
That'll never happen, as Lionel's spiritual home is on Wearside and it is his destiny to score at Dean Court, Bournemouth next season.
Why nar man, we always boss the Championship, will be like a home from home. He'll have to go when we get back up of course, we can replace him with a newly relegated midfielder, who can't pass or shoot, on a huge salary for 5 years. Seems sound business to me.
Aye normal business would return. Sure there must be some other Italian internationals we could ruin also.
